5 High On Sugar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a leading chance. He ran over this trip two weeks ago on the course proper when off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. If he can settle closer and be within range, he’s dangerous.

8 All Shot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1250m after racing over 1100m at Gawler last time when off speed and drove hard late nearer the inside when second to Smashing Action. Racing like a rise to 1250m will suit and with better luck in running, he can prove to be dangerous.

3 Voltage Point (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came two weeks back over this trip on the course proper when off speed and failed to really get involved behind The Stalker. Better for the run, I am not dismissing him.

1 Back Me Up Benny (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 2250m after a win two weeks ago over 2000m on the course proper. Track pattern was in his corner but he took advantage of it and was strong to the line in winning. Trip should be fine, he appeals against these.

5 Classy Claret (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town off the back of a midweek win last Wednesday at Murray Bridge over 2000m, settling near the speed and was trucking before being clicked up and he found plenty under pressure to score. 2250m is no issue, he commands respect.

2 Coorong Tycoon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was terrible in the Strathalbyn Cup. Market kept him relatively safe but he got back in the run and was never really a factor. Trialled a few days later at Murray Bridge and looked to move well enough there. If he brings his best, he goes close.

Not sure 6 Bassett Babe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) beat much in her debut win at Gawler, but the manner in which she put them away was just so damn impressive and ran good time in doing so. Trialled up like a rocket prior so she’s clearly got an engine under the hood and confident she can measure up.

5 Safe Bet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was game in defeat two weeks ago at this track/distance, sitting wide no cover throughout and tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite get there when nabbed late by Light The Night. Hard fit, dangerous with better luck in running.

3 Mostly For Show (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Jolly trained three year old that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Dec 6 when a game fourth on Ballarat Cup Day behind Tempt The Gods. Looks to have trialled well for the return, watch betting.

12 Sicilian Princess (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. She resumed over 1100m at Gawler at the midweeks when on speed and she tried hard but bumped into a potential rocket in Bassett Babe. Back to 1000m, good racing style, fitter, she takes a power of beating I say.

14 Zou Doll (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Phillip Stokes trained filly that resumes. She had three runs in her first prep during the Winter, where she was just fair for the most part. Jumpout work has been quite encouraging, I think she has the talent to run a positive race.

13 Word Game (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on debut for Sarah Rutten and is in the mix. She has had four jumpouts to get ready for start one, so the grounding is well and truly there, and each time she has stepped out, she has looked pretty good. Watch betting.

1 Autumn Frost (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been kept on the fresh side since Jan 3 at Gawler. He ran over 1200m and tried hard from near the speed but couldn’t quite see it through when a narrow second to Percidian. Tick over jumpout was quite good and with a good racing style, takes beating.

4 Tough Talk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) produced a brilliant finale to win fresh at Strathalbyn, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance to win and win well. He’s returned in super order and rising to 1250m, he only runs well I say.

6 Never Surrender (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1250m after resuming over 1100m at Gawler when wide no cover for the trip and the hard run just told late in the piece. Maps to stalk the speed and be effective at the end. Knockout hope.

3 Nextonix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a pretty talented mare for the Jolly/Potter camp that resumes and I think she can resume a winner. She hasn’t raced since Sep 20 over this track/distance when seemingly having her chance but she just looked a tired horse behind Mt Niseko. Think fresh is best for her and her jumpout work has been quite strong.

7 Sharendipity (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for Cody Reardon and is dangerous. She resumes, having not raced since Sep 27 when a close up fourth at this track/distance to Thunder Shoc, who has gone right on with it since. Two trials under the belt signal clear intent so watch betting.

2 Mintulee (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Jan 10 at Murray Bridge when four wide the trip and the hard run just told late in the piece. Good record at the track/distance, not dismissing her as a threat.

10 No Overtaking (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat play after a good effort over this trip at Pakenham last start. She got a fair way out of her ground but really liked the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Blue Hawaiian. Maps to settle closer and be effective late.

13 Path To Profit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Formerly with Ciaron Maher, she is now with Will Clarken and her trial at Strathalbyn to tick over was quite good. Victorian form reads well, if she’s here to play, she takes beating.

9 I Am Piki (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable for Team Jolly. She ran two weeks back behind Mic Drop on the course proper here, getting off speed and didn’t really fire. Much better suited here, and with a kind map, she’s a knockout hope.

11 Brown Nose Day Gal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1550m after a win last Wednesday over 1400m at Murray Bridge, sitting just off speed before angling clear and he was impressive in the run to the line to score. Eight years of age, but clearly has talent and commands respect as one of the top seeds.

4 Andrew’s Memory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing really well at present. He ran over 1350m on Strathalbyn Cup Day when off speed and worked home with real purpose late in the piece when third to impressive winner Streetcar Apollo. In well after the claim, he appeals against these.

10 Angelic Appeal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a chance if she brings her best. She was terrible at Mount Gambier a few weeks back, getting back to near last after a tardy start and was never really a factor. She has been hit and miss this prep but if she brings her best, she’s dangerous.

7 Burning Bright (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came two weeks ago over 1200m on the course proper. She got into a decent spot in transit and did try hard but just couldn’t quite get there when third to The Stalker. Fitter and up in trip, she’s the straight bat play for me.

3 Streetcar Apollo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town for the Jolly/Potter camp after a dominant win on Strathalbyn Cup Day over 1350m, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win impressively. Good upside to come, great track/distance record, he is right in the mix.

4 Zebella (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran behind The Stalker two weeks back on the course proper. She got into a decent spot in transit just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job. That was her first run in seven weeks so with upside/improvement, she’s in the mix.

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 7 Burning Bright
