I’ll start this preview by saying there are a stack of dual acceptors so these tips may change. 13 Unassailable (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has gone outstanding since joining Jared Wehlow. 3/3 for the camp, all three wins coming at Mackay, which is a tricky track to sort out, but each win she has been dominant and has run time for the most part. She has been well placed since coming to this part of the world and I think is well placed in a race like this. But, with this stable, watch the market.

5 Ezekeil (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat but always wary of Cody Morgan runners hard in the market. He has been kept on ice since spanking his rivals in the Armidale Newmarket, smashing the clock over 1100m. 1200m should be fine, he’ll lob into a lovely spot under J Kah and on form is hard to beat…just too short for my liking.

11 Sequana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kris Lees trained mare who is in with a shout. She has been kept on ice, having not raced since December 17 here when close up in defeat over 1350m here behind a proven metro class horse in Zoukina. Tick over trial last week here in a strong heat was a good piece of work and I do like her back to 1200m. Dangerous with her best.

1 Getty (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a real professional. Capitalist colt for Team Snowden that won a trial at Rosehill on December 29 where he was outside the speed before McEvoy clicked him up and he moved like a nice horse to win the trial in solid enough time. Clearly been set for the race given he has had one trial but it was a sharp piece of work, so keen to see how he goes.

5 Rush Hour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) creates some level of interest. Nathan Doyle doesn’t often go on the road and step out of his lane but you do have to respect him. He has this colt stepping out off a Rosehill trial win but while it was just a trial win, he moved well enough and responded when asked for the effort. Drawing a soft gate is key and he has a good gate to use. Knockout hope.

Bjorn Baker loves to target this day and he has 10 Desperately (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on debut here. She has won two trials to get ready for start one and each time she has run well to the eye and to an extent, on the clock. Gate one and J Mac on, she has a bit in her corner to run well here, so watch the market.

1 Sky Lab (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is working up to a win for Paul Perry. All runs this time in have been super, the latest being the Summer Cup where he was one of a few not to get much luck in the straight and could have easily made a case to say with clear air, he wins instead of a second to Diamil. He has that 2000m run under the belt now, so that should hold him in good stead.

4 Bigboyroy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won at this meeting last year and it’s interesting he steps up to 2200m. He ran ran in the Shoot Out two weeks ago at Doomben and I thought he should have gone close to winning, getting badly held up at the wrong time when J Mac wanted to build the revs. I think 2200m will be fine and with clear air from the outset, I think he is going good enough to take this out.

7 Outlandos (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been set for the race and I reckon John Sargent has him ticking along beautifully. He ran last time out at Randwick and on paper, it was just a run, but I thought he found the line nicely between runners. He was down to run last Saturday but the fact he was scratched gives me a thought process that the stable thinks he is ready to go and doesn’t need another run.

2 Scallopini (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a noted fresh horse and from all reports he is flying. Eight years of age but he is still a very good horse that resumes for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp. This guy ended last prep on a high when winning over 1400m at Flemington during the Spring. He went well in a trial late last month and from all reports, he went like a rocket in a jumpout last Tuesday, so for me, he’s ready to go.

1 Eleven Eleven… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is he going any good? His recent form has been plain, but he does seem to fly on this day and Greg Hickman has kept him on ice with this raceday in mind. His latest run came in early December in the Razor Sharp where he got back in the run and was good late without threatening behind speed demon Sky Command. Tick over trial was good and he does command respect given his record here.

3 Ranges (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready to go third up from a spell. Wide and worked fresh in the Razor Sharp in a forgive behind Sky Command. He then went to the Canterbury Sprint and I thought worked home with real purpose late in the piece behind a flying mare, I Am Me. He does tend to get better as the prep goes on and he will be strong late here. Definite winning chance.

Chris Waller loves to target this race with a high quality mare and the high quality mare he has here is 1 Kiku (Bet Now:  $SP.00). Market wanted her with confidence in the Nudgee two weeks ago and she was there to win when J Mac presented her but condition just gave way late. This has been the race for her and with the class edge, a clear class edge, she’s clearly the one to beat with the run under the belt.

Back in trip I do like for 5 Me Me Lagarde (Bet Now:  $SP.00). She ran over 1400m in The Gateway last time out at Eagle Farm and for mine, 1400m just found her out from where she was, beaten just under three lengths. Tends to save her best for the home deck here and she is a mare who needs to be cuddled in order to finish late. Best rider for that is J Collett and he is aboard.

4 Diamonds (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Chris Bieg trained mare that is absolutely flying at the moment and deserves a crack at this kind of race. She has won two on the bounce, winning the two feature sprint races during the Adelaide Summer Carnival, and each time she was impressive. Hard to knock a mare in form, she’ll be strong late and has hard fitness under the belt.

1 King Of Sparta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a gun dry tracker and he won the Guineas last year, and off the back of an outstanding first up win, he is clearly the one they have to beat. Market said he had three legs when resuming in the Falvelon but the track remained on the firm side, he sat back, gave them a start and gave them a beating in an impressive return. Gets similar conditions this time around, I am quite keen on his prospects.

3 Shooting For Gold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. Game second first up before going to the Falvelon where he was there to win but couldn’t quite get there when a close up fifth to King Of Sparta. M Zahra on is good intent and maps to get a beaut run in transit. If the 1200m is fine, which I think it will be, he’s hard to beat.

2 Hard Empire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Edmonds trained gelding that resumes. He had a fruitful Winter/Spring prep, headlined by a surprise win in the Missile Stakes at Randwick. He is a horse who can absolutely fly fresh and has won both trials to get ready. Maps to get the A1 run in transit and is a knockout chance if the fav is off his game.

16 Empress Of Wonder… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) less said about the last start ride, the better. Should have won last time out at Eagle Farm but spotted those in front a near impossible start and given the way the track played, her run in defeat was absolutely enormous. She is a quality filly for sure and despite a tricky gate, can see her getting three/four wide cover and launch late.

Team Snowden are elite Grand Final trainers to I am respecting 4 Empire Of Japan (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He resumed three weeks ago at Randwick where he sat back in a slowly run race and was good late but condition just gave way when third to Fire Lane. That was clearly a prep run for this and good lead that J Mac had choices for this race, but he sticks with this colt. He’ll be strong late.

3 Sunsource (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a colt I am not dropping off. Electric debut win in the Ballarat Magic Millions before being given a let up. He went to Doomben where they found J Mac but he looked drunk around Doomben and was plain late behind all the way winner Sovereign Fund. Off the debut win, he’ll love a truly run 1200m and that effort can see him measure up here.

Gee I reckon 1 Tijuana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a big price here. Son of American Pharoah that resumes for Team Hayes. He hasn’t raced since the Carbine Club where he produced an end of prep run but far from disgraced behind Perfect Thought, a nice looking youngster on the up. He ran super in the Spring behind high quality animals and his trial was a nice piece of work. He has the runs on the board to give this a shake.

4 Yellow Brick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a ripping three year old for Team Sears that has the current runs on the board given he resumed with an outstanding win in the King Of The Mountain at Toowoomba, where he got a beaut run on speed and fought it out super to win. That was 1200m and he is a horse who is much better suited over further so he has to rate highly here.

12 Stroll (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks set up to run really well. O’Dea/Hoysted trained filly that won the Mode Plate two back before having a month off and racing in the Vo Rogue where she tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get there behind Fashion Legend. Has a much better set up this time around and I think the gate will be fine. She is certainly in the mix despite the class rise.

2 Emerald Kingdom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a ripper for Desleigh Forster and I think he has to be the way to go. Ran two weeks ago in The Buffering where he led throughout and was just strong to the line, drawing clear to win impressively and safely hold his rivals at bay. There is more depth to this race, but he should get a good run on speed again, tough, and will take running down.

3 Holyfield (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well and should be around the mark for Annabel Neasham. Strong winner first up and has placed at his next two, the latest being the Lough Neagh where he had his chance but ran well but was no match for Ucalledit, who gave them a spanking. Think he is better suited here than Eagle Farm and with a soft run in transit, he is in with a shout for sure.

16 Petronius (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is loving life with Barry Lockwood and is one of the main contenders. He was there to be beaten at Doomben a few weeks back but found plenty under pressure to fend off Palladas and cling on for a game win. The end of the 1400m here is the slight knock with him but with a potential soft run on speed, hard fit and in form, he appeals as one of the key threats.

3 Alpine Edge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready to rock and roll. Market said he had three legs when racing in the King Of The Mountain at Toowoomba but despite that, he kept finding the line and was very good in defeat when second to Yellow Brick. Third up from a break so he should just about be at peak fitness, trained on the track and should be strong late. Hard to beat.

1 Ef Troop (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the main contenders. He ran in the Falvelon three weeks ago where he was on speed throughout and gave a strong kick when asked but had no answers for the finale produced by a gun dry track horse, King Of Sparta. The end of the trip is the query with him but he has turned his career around after looking gone. Leading contender.

2 Wisdom Of Water (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was blessed in run to win this race last year…is he going as well this time around? I am saying no, but he has the runs on the board to give this a shake if he brings his best. He ran four weeks back at Randwick where he was chasing from a fair way out and couldn’t get going late behind I Am Me where they smashed the clock. Not sure I could back him to win, but one for multiples.

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 1 Tijuana

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 16 Empress Of Wonder
