13/8/2022 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm

A nine race program has been assembled for Eagle Farm on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out five metres for the entire circuit.

4 Hellavadancer (Bet Now: $1.85) is a Kris Lees trained filly with good talent. Broke the maiden in style at Gunnedah two back before racing here two weeks ago where she didn’t quite get the rub of the green in the straight and should have finished closer behind Billionair Baby. That form reads super for this and the extra 100m is ideal.

5 Betterdeel (Bet Now: $4.60) is a query at 1500m, but is hard fit, in form and brings with her from North Queensland some decent form. Latest run came over 1200m at Rockhampton and worked to the line strongly late in the piece when second. Yet to race beyond 1200m, but if this becomes a sit/sprint, she has the turn of foot.

6 Wyatt River (Bet Now: $15.00) is the one I could entertain with the different form. Still a maiden after two starts, but last start over 1200m at the Gold Coast, he really warmed to the task late in the piece in a good effort, clocking the best late splits of the race. He’s raw, new, but has an engine and the rise to 1500m on the big track is a tick.

1 Racecourse Road (Bet Now: $4.80) is a very good first up horse and with two trials under the belt, I say he’s here to rock and roll fresh. He resumes for Kelly Schweida, having not raced since March 19 in the Gold Jewel at the Gold Coast when producing an end of prep run when down the track behind Derulo. He’s a short course specialist and if the drop of rain hits the track on the day, he comes right into play.

5 Ice In Vancouver (Bet Now: $1.95) has come back in really good order for Cody Morgan and you’d think is on the shop front window for The Kosciuszko. 2/2 this time, both over this trip, the latest a strong win in the John Kirby at Grafton after sitting wide no cover for the trip. Keen to see how he goes in what looks a pretty solid race.

Best version of 7 Shamrock Lu (Bet Now: $8.50) is capable. Tony Gollan trained gelding that resumed here two weeks back and didn’t fire a shot, finishing some 200m+ away from Red Rubi. Trialled a few days later and looked sharp when winning, so I think watch the market and see what it does.

4 Barade (Bet Now: $5.00) has been a working progress for Jack Bruce and now he’s found winning form, he can certainly hold it. He’s had three runs for the new stable. The first two were quite encouraging but he clearly loved a rise in trip when knuckling down strongly to win at the midweeks. Room for improvement and is better suited to 2200m from 2000m.

2 Fast Talking (Bet Now: $2.90) looks the straight bat option. Three weeks between runs for David Vandyke since a dominant win over this trip at Doomben where he looked a good thing on paper in the small field but gave them a spanking. See no reason why he can’t repeat the dose.

6 Ostermeier (Bet Now: $14.00) is a track/distance winner who can fill a first four spot. He ran over 2400m here two weeks back where he got to near last in the run and while he was never a threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off behind Contrition. Doubt he wins, but a first four contender.

1 Southern Stock (Bet Now: $3.30) looks to have returned in really good order and fitter, up to 1800m, he’ll take beating. Resumed over the mile here two weeks ago and he was one of the eye catchers of the meeting, closing off with real purpose late in the piece behind Deficit. Love him up in trip and if he can settle closer in the run, good luck beating him.

5 Derani (Bet Now: $10.00) lacks the class of some of these but he’s racing in solid form for Maryann Brosnan. He comes through the Deficit race from a fortnight back here and worked home well from the back to finish third, beaten just under two lengths. He has the right form to give this a shake.

3 Blacklog (Bet Now: $19.00) has an awful winning strike rate but he’s racing really well at the moment. He ran over this track/distance two weeks back and worked to the line pretty well from off the speed when third to See Marie, who was given a peach to win. He’s bursting to win a race…backing him to do it with confidence is another matter.

I’m with 1 Hard To Say (Bet Now: $2.90), who resumes for Jason Deamer. He tried to get into the Magic Millions when last in work but while he ran well, he just couldn’t quite get there. He’s had two trials in NSW, both in June, so the query is the gap between then and now, but he gets a great run from the gate and stable finds KWT.

I think 1000m is ideal for 2 Jukebox Flyer (Bet Now: $3.20) for Claire Lever, who comes here off a mini freshen up. Resumed at Caulfield back on July 9 when outside the speed and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get there when second to Cotel in a good effort. I think firmer footing and back to 1000m, she’s hard to beat.

10 Kayleen (Bet Now: $13.00) looks to have come back in really good order. Stuart Kendrick trained three year old that resumed on the home deck at the Sunny Coast where she got back off the speed before getting inside splits and once clicked up by Thompson, away she went and she was dominant. Confident she can measure up here.

20 Dynamic Duo (Bet Now: $6.50) is worth a throw at the stumps each way in an open race. He resumes for Team Sears and this horse does perform very well on the fresh side. First up last prep, he produced some of the better closing splits of the meeting when a closing third on the Sunny Coast Poly. He’ll stalk a fast speed and be strong late.

The form of 1 The Egyptian (Bet Now: $8.50) has somewhat tapered off, but he gets KWT steering and a soft gate to run a much improved race. He has been kept on ice since a down the track effort at Doomben back on July 9, five weeks ago. His best is certainly good enough in what is a winnable 0MW.

10 Hamilton Hill (Bet Now: $14.00) will jump on the bunny and give them something to chase. Sustained speed saw him win over this trip at Toowoomba last time out, booting clear early on in the straight and fending them off to win. Inside gate, early toe, I am sure he’ll give a sight.

5 Smart Image (Bet Now: $4.60) is a Tony Gollan trained gelding that resumes and I think he can be quite dangerous here on a firm deck, provided the rain forecast for Saturday doesn’t hit the track too hard. He hasn’t raced since April 27 at Ipswich when back in the run and making up headway late when fifth to Dash Of Dreams. Just one soft trial leading in but can sprint well fresh and has good change up speed.

1 Legal Esprit (Bet Now: $3.70) is an absolute beauty for Donald Baker that is just so honest and genuine. Resumed three weeks ago at Doomben where he knuckled down strongly late to win a 3YO race. The race was there to be run and won and he just wanted it more, surging hard late to win. Has to be respected here.

10 Maya Bay (Bet Now: $7.00) has returned in really good order for Team Sears and is hard to beat against these. He ran over three weeks ago when given a peach by KWT and the horse repaid the ride with a dominant finale to win and win well. Hard to beat in what looks a very winnable Class 6.

5 Wairere Falls (Bet Now: $4.20) is absolutely flying for Chris Waller and surely a win is coming for him. He just hasn’t been suited his past couple in Big Dance Qualifiers, firstly in the South Grafton Cup before last Thursday in the Coffs Harbour Cup, producing the best late splits of the meeting each time. If he gets a drag into the race and is within range, good luck beating him.

2 Tokoriki Lad (Bet Now: $7.50) has come back in outstanding order for Tony Gollan and third up at the mile, he looks really well placed. Surprised most with a first up win over 1200m here first up before proving that was no fluke two weeks ago, looking the winner over 1400m but was nabbed late by Love Tap. Like him up to the mile, he likes Eagle Farm, he’s in form, hard to beat.

8 Easifar (Bet Now: $4.60) is bursting to win a race and I think she gets a great chance here. She ran over the Doomben mile three weeks ago and tried her guts out but was no match for a potential Stakes class animal in Puntura. Just has to hold her form and she’ll take beating against these.

6 Sneak Preview (Bet Now: $7.50) on top in the get out. David Vandyke trained gelding that is flying I think and getting to a firmer deck is ideal. He hasn’t raced since July 23 at Doomben on a bog when back near last in the run and was very good late in the piece. Fresh legs and on a firm deck, with the 3kg claim, I think he’ll only run well.

10 Chatty Lady (Bet Now: $4.20) is a line chaser that should take beating against these. Ran over 1400m here two weeks ago in a 3YO race and savaged the line from near last on the turn, rounding them up to win and win impressively. Extra 100m should be fine and she is a mare who knows where the line is.

3 Magic Charlee (Bet Now: $26.00) rises a fair bit in grade/depth, but he’s really turned the corner since joining Mark Currie. Landed bets at odds first run at Toowoomba two back before a gutsy on speed win last Wednesday at this track/distance where he was there to be run down but found plenty under pressure. One for wider multiples.
