Race 1. (12:45) Easter Monday Handicap 1300m

Back Me

Going the way of 3 Major Murphy (Bet Now: $3.00). Was on him at the big odds when he debuted at Wyong and he would have been a good thing beaten had he not got clear but Louise Day got the splits and the horse did the rest in a driving go. Time wasn’t too bad for a 2YO on debut and with respect to Louise, getting Tom Marquand to steer is a big, big tick.

Danger

4 Achiever (Bet Now: $4.00) is a Chris Waller trained colt that debuted on that bottomless Rosehill track at the midweeks. To make the task more difficult, he was four wide throughout. Entitled to throw the toys out but he stuck on to beat the rest of the field comfortably when second to Rock My Wand. Think that form will hold up here.

Long Shot

7 Glaciers (Bet Now: $5.50) jumps to 1300m from 900m but she looks to have a bit of ticker about her. Was under pressure early on in the straight when debuting over 900m at Newcastle but loved the way she knuckled down when asked for more of an effort and got there in the final couple of strides. Needs to improve here, but looks talented.

Race 2. (13:20) Hyland Race Colours Plate 1300m

Back Me

Each way for me in the shape of 14 Thinking Cap (Bet Now: $7.00). Jason Coyle trains this So You Think filly, who debuted over 1100m on the Kenso track off the back of one soft trial. Drifted late in betting and while that market fluc was correct, she was unlucky and should have finished a bit closer. Love her up to 1300m and gets G Boss to steer.

Danger

No idea what to make of 6 Archanna (Bet Now: $2.15). Bred to be a good one being by Snitzel out of a quality Galileo mare. Has had three trials to prepare for her debut and while they’ve been pretty good behind some nice types…can I get her as short as $2.50? No. Wet track, wide gate, on debut…few negatives to warrant taking the short quote. She’s a leading chance for sure, but I’d be wanting $4+ before diving in.

Long Shot

10 Pizzly (Bet Now: $11.00) is the SP Profile horse here. Chris Waller trains this Zoustar filly, who started $1.26 at Hawkesbury last Saturday and really, you’d have to mark her down as ordinary after getting every chance off the speed. Did run well here first up behind Badia after doing work in the run and off that effort, would go close here. Getting a decent price to find out.

Race 3. (13:55) Schweppes Handicap (88) 2130m

Back Me

The way I’m seeing this, it’s either 6 Attorney (Bet Now: $3.30) or a blowout. If you’re looking at his replays from his first prep in Australia, he should have run in the Sydney Cup given the upside he had left. But in three runs this time in, you’d have to mark him down as very disappointing, but if you want to pull the runs apart, he’s had excuses each time. Last resorts here with Blinkers on first time and Tom Marquand to steer, but gee the trial here on April 3 was an eye catcher. If he runs to his best, he wins and should be even money.

Danger

7 Monsier Sisu (Bet Now: $8.50) gets his wet track and a soft lead, the two things he needs to be any chance of winning. All three wins have been on wet ground and each time he has been on speed. Ran over 2400m here last time out when doing work to get on speed and tried hard behind Corncrake, who is a progressive stayer. Tick over trial was good, looks the leader and Jason Collett has won on the horse previously.

Long Shot

The best version of 5 Re Edit (Bet Now: $11.00) would see her go very close to beating these. Two runs back have been a bit disappointing, though she has had excuses. First up, in what was a pretty much barrier trial, she was found to be 2/5 lame. Then raced again on the Kenso track and produced really good closing splits before running out of condition the final 200m. Gets Blinkers on first time, gate one, a wet track and is 1/1 at the track.

Race 4. (14:30) Vinery Stallions Handicap (70) 1600m

Back Me

Fitter and up to the mile are two big ticks for 4 Mocambo (Bet Now: $3.40). Talented three year old who resumed over 1400m at Kembla and was a real eye catcher from the back behind Electric Girl in what has turned out to be a red hot form reference. He’s bred to handle wet ground and clearly up to 1600m should really suit. Hard to beat.

Danger

7 All Time Legend (Bet Now: $1.50) looks the key threat. Gave them a caning to break the maiden tag two back over 1400m at Kembla before racing on the Kenso track where it was a bit of a car crash in the straight when not getting clear at the right time. He was out and entitled to finish off better, but I think he’s a horse who is suited when clear from the outset and rolling.

Long Shot

For wider multiples, I’d be including 1 Invicta (Bet Now: $14.00), who resumed in the Wayne Harris at Muswellbrook over 1280m and was good late despite never really being a winning threat when fourth to Trophies Galore. That is a trip clearly short of his best so it was a good resumption. Terribly weighted here but is a tough nut and loves give in the ground.

Race 5. (15:05) Sky Racing Active Handicap (74) 1200m

Back Me

Going with 8 Dazzling Damsel (Bet Now: $4.20) to bounce back. Top first up win on the Kenso track before going to the PJ Bell at Randwick when wide no cover for the trip in a total forgive behind Rubisaki, who has claims to being the best three year old filly in the Australia outside Loving Gaby. That form surely holds up for this event.

Danger

3 Military Magic (Bet Now: $2.70) is unbeaten in three career outings for Team Snowden and is a big watch here first up. Hasn’t raced since November 29 when just getting the win at Canterbury, beating an okay animal in Instant Attraction. Two trials leading in have been solid and a decent enough lead is that J Mac, who rode in the latest trial, is on here.

Long Shot

5 Unguarded (Bet Now: $9.50) is on the quick back up for Team Freedman after racing here on Wednesday at this track/distance. Was on speed in the run and tried her heart out but couldn’t quite get there when a close up sixth to a progressive mare in Tricky Gal. Hasn’t done the back up in the past, but think she’s going well and with a more conservative steer, she’ll be more effective.

Race 6. (15:40) Darley Stallions Handicap (78) 1400m

Back Me

The safe option looks to be 10 Pinvincible (Bet Now: $4.20). Tasted defeat for the first time in his career over 1400m last start on the Kenso track when chasing a hot speed, which left him a sitting shot for a good one in Grand Piano, but stuck on and was very good in defeat in running second. Looks to get a good run near the pace here and should prove hard to beat.

Danger

I’m very wary of 4 Word For Word (Bet Now: $5.50). Daughter of So You Think for Chris Waller that resumes. She teased on a number of occasions to win a race but continually let punters down, including once as a $1.80 favourite so SP profile wise, she’s likeable and looked solid enough in a recent Rosehill trial. Love the booking of Tom Marquand, so a definite market watch.

Long Shot

8 Adana (Bet Now: $10.00) was touted as the next big thing in racing early on in his career but never lived up to the hype. He will enjoy the cut out of the ground and should get every chance with Jmac on board. Looks the value runner in the race and in this grade he has to be respected.

Race 7. (16:20) TAB Venue Mode Handicap (74) 1600m

Back Me

4 Earth Song (Bet Now: $4.00) has always had a bit of a wrap on her. Can this be the prep that sh goes on with it? Was a big drifter in betting when resuming at Wyong but in the run, she was the only one you wanted to be on. Just a matter of getting clear, which she did and burst through to win. Gets Marquand to steer and fitter, up to 1600m, she’ll do me.

Danger

5 Amitto (Bet Now: $2.90) is flying for James Cummings. Over three weeks between runs since getting the job done at Newcastle over the mile. Loved the way she knuckled down in the straight because she didn’t immediately pick up, but responded hard late and was able to get there. Gets run of the race from the draw and is a leading chance.

Long Shot

I’m definitely including 6 No Money No Honey (Bet Now: $23.00) in the quaddie. Had jumped out well prior to resuming in the Bendigo Bracelet over 1400m where she was back in the run and never in the hunt in a somewhat on speed/rail dominated affair. Love her up to 1600m and the juice in the track is perfect. $51+ looks silly.

Race 8. (17:00) TAB Handicap (70) 1300m

Back Me

6 Epic Dan (Bet Now: $4.80) for me in the get out. On the quick back up for Greg Hickman after racing over 1100m here on Wednesday, his first run in three weeks. Despite being in the worst ground, he kept finding and got close to knocking off Burning Crown. Fitter and back up to 1200m, with Nash remaining on, he’s very likeable.

Danger

11 Zakat (Bet Now: $2.10) is looking to make it 3/3 this time in. Resumed with a strong maiden win over 1200m at Newcastle before remaining at the trip when going to Kembla and knuckled down strongly when asked to get up near the peg and score, clocking good late splits relative to the day. Think up to 1300m should suit, gets three wide cover from the gate and launches late.

Long Shot

3 Roman Wolf (Bet Now: $9.00), at his best, can certainly take this out. Keep going back to the resumption here in the Inglis 3YO Sprint when leading and giving a mighty sight, just running out of puff late when fourth to Rubisaki. Two runs since have been just fair, but gets back home on wet ground and stable finds Tom Marquand to steer.
