Ten races have been set down for Ascot on Saturday, headlined by The Gold Rush (1400m). Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

7 Mississippi Dawn (Bet Now:  $SP.00) showed real grit to win two weeks ago at this track/distance. Race was there to be won and she dug in when required to score. Heading in the right direction and a win here could earn her a crack at blacktype.

1 Hoba West (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second to Forever Boy a fortnight back at this track/distance. He tried his guts out from near the speed but just lacked the class to go with the eventual winner. No horse of that quality here, he commands respect.

3 Audio Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was big odds behind Mississippi Dawn two weeks back. He was off speed and never really looked likely but he wasn’t beaten too far. Doubt he wins but he can run first four at a price.

1 Artistry In Motion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top. He was a dominant winner a Bunbury last start, leading throughout and justified the short priced SP with a commanding performance. Looks the leader and from there, will take running down.

8 Ninetymilestraight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a big price when attempting to lead throughout a fortnight back in the Lee Steere. She gave a good sight from the front but could my quite see it through. Good racing style, she’ll be around the mark.

5 Beau’s A Lad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one I can entertain for exotics. He ran last Wednesday at Belmont where he got back to near last in the run and was never a winning threat but he did make up headway. Not sure he is good enough to win but could pinch a first four spot at odds.

2 Want A Winner (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Casey trained four year old that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Aug 23 when a close up fourth over 1200m at Belmont. Looks to have trialled up very well for the return, watch betting because I do think he has class.

7 Brave Strike (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over this track/distance when back near last in the run and was okay late without threatening behind Black Ora. Back to this level, she appeals.

1 Pin Deep (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is now with Team Gangemi after formerly being with Adam Durrant. He ran a close up fifth to Santanova two weeks back when near the speed and just battled late. His best is good enough so I wouldn’t be dismissing him.

3 Astro World (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take beating after racing two weeks ago in the Grandstand Cup. She got back to near last in the run but was good late when fourth. Like the rise to the mile for her and she seems to have found a very winnable race.

6 Extreme Love (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over 1800m here, she got into a decent spot off speed and loomed to win but just found one better in Summers Legacy. Back to the mile, racing well, she appeals.

7 Glanced (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after a first up win over 1300m at Belmont last Wednesday, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Rise in trip is fine and off that win, she’s in the mix.

I am very interested in 3 Tin Chooks (Bet Now:  $SP.00). I thought he was going to be a Railway horse last year but unfortunately injury cruelled those plans and he hasn’t been seen since April last year. His two trials to get ready have been strong and although 1200m is short of his best, he is loaded with talent.

Hard to get away from 2 Smooth Chino (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who is 5/5 to start his career, the latest being three weeks ago when heavily backed and landed the bets with a strong on speed win. Good racing style, line finder…confident he measures up once again.

1 Repossession (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will welcome the drop in grade/depth after being thrown in the deep end in the Winterbottom. He tried hard but just lacked the class to go with them late. Back to this level, he’s in the mix.

9 Regal Statue (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take a power of beating here after her effort three weeks ago behind Smooth Chino. She got a mile out of her ground but loved the way she finished her race off in defeat. If the trip is fine, which I think it will be, then she’ll take holding out.

5 Dug Another Hole (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was big odds when resuming over 1400m here a fortnight back. He got into a decent spot near the speed and was there to threaten but first up, condition just gave way. Better for the run, he’s in the mix.

4 Climb On Top (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 1400m here. He got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never threatening, he was far from disgraced. That was his first run in over a month so he has good room for improvement.

4 Supersession (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was big odds when racing two weeks ago at this track/distance. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get involved. Maps perfect and the big tick is Pike back on. He rides the horse very well and is hard to beat.

6 Six Shooter (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was kept safe in betting when racing two weeks back at this track/distance when off speed and didn’t quite get involved. Better for the run and is capable of measuring up against these.

2 Keep Reading (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been racing really well this time in without winning. Latest run was two weeks back at this track/distance when not beaten too far by Cessation. I think he’s a genuine knockout hope.

If 2 Machine Gun Gracie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is ready to go, she has lengths on these. Great to see her back. It was a shame we didn’t get to see her in the Railway and Northerly because I am sure she would have measured up. Nonetheless, she’s back and her trial work has been electric. Keen.

3 Bonjoy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing two weeks ago in the Jungle Dawn. She got a fair way off speed and was held up at times but kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. She has class in her own right and can threaten.

6 Zephyra (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout hope. She ran in the Jungle Dawn two weeks back where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never threatening, she kept chasing and was good in defeat. If within range, she has the finale to threaten at odds.

I think the market is completely dismissing 13 Super Smink (Bet Now:  $SP.00). She was poorly weighted and had an awful draw in the Railway. She ran accordingly, getting back in the run and was never really a factor. Maps to settle much closer in the run and do think back to 1400m is a big tick.

Did Parr go too slow on 1 Overpass (Bet Now:  $SP.00) in the Winterbottom? I can understand that angle. But really, he had every possible chance in front and couldn’t fend off Libertad, who is a solid horse, but no world beater. I do think the rise to 1400m will suit him, he leads and will give an almighty sight.

4 Magnificent Andy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is suited at 1400m. He ran in the Railway where he got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but the end of 1600m at this level just found him out late. Back to 1400m is ideal. Just needs luck from the draw to be around the mark.

3 Magnique (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after coming back to 1000m two weeks ago here. She got a fair way off speed but I really liked the way she closed her race off. Like her back up in trip and will be very hard to beat if she can settle closer in the run.

4 Hey Pino (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumed with a bang last Wednesday at Belmont, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Harder here but off the return, good upside, he’s in the mix and does get Pike aboard.

2 Santanova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be top seed after her first up win two weeks ago here, producing a brilliant finale from the back to score. Better for the run, she’ll spot them a start but if within range, she can launch over the top again.

NEXT BEST: Race One Number 7 Mississippi Dawn

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 13 Super Smink
