Wyong will host a strong seven race card on Wednesday for Magic Millions Day. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (13:45) Mdn Hcp 1350m
4 West Head (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top, and clearly in the opener. This guy debuted over 1200m at Canterbury when off speed and held up at times but kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat, beaten under a length. Fitter and up in trip, back miles in grade/depth, he’ll take a power of beating.
2 Delrico (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Kingman that resumes for Chris Waller and returns to racing as a gelding after a two run Winter prep where he was quite good in defeat the second time around at this track. Looks to have trialled up well for the return and has a kind map in his corner.
3 Sethnique (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Super Seth for GaiBott that is on debut. He’s had two trials this prep to get ready for start one, the latest seeing him run fifth over 1045m at Randwick. I think he is a horse who will get better over time and over more ground, but in this camp, he has to be respected.
Race 2. (14:20) Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale (Bm64) 1600m
1 Happy Saturday (Bet Now: $SP.00) should prove hard to beat here for Joe Pride. He sat on speed over 1300m at Hawkesbury last start and battled away well enough in defeat when fourth to Tuned. The rise to the mile looks ideal and with Blinkers back on, he is the one for me.
4 More Mischief (Bet Now: $SP.00) will put himself on speed and look to give his all. He attempted to lead throughout at Hawkesbury last start and gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through. If he gets front end control, he takes running down.
3 Turnaround Time (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Tavistock that is first up. He is better suited over further but the small field and likely gentle tempo means he won’t be too far away and his trial work to get ready for the return has been encouraging so watch the market.
Race 3. (14:55) Cowyn Building Group (Bm64) 2100m
4 Montgomery (Bet Now: $SP.00) may need a wet track to showcase his best but hard fit now and I do think he has found a very thin race. He ran in a sit sprint at Hawkesbury last start and couldn’t get involved when down the track. The rise in trip looks ideal, he should be strong late and stable is flying.
1 Mannerheim (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran in the same race Montgomery contested at Hawkesbury. He got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a threat, he made up headway and was good in defeat. The rise in trip is a tick, he maps to settle much closer and has good upside.
7 Threw (Bet Now: $SP.00) rises big time in grade/depth but has a good racing style and comes here in form after a win at Orange where he was there to be run down but he found under pressure to fend them off. Harder here, but down in the weights, presses forward and will run an honest race.
Race 4. (15:30) Magic Millions Wyong 3Yo & 4Yo Stakes 1200m
9 Bauhinia (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a very good filly for Team Curtis and confident she can resume with a win. She did some very nice things as a juvenile and dodged the Spring with the Magic Millions in mind. She will likely spot them a start, but if she’s within range on the turn, I think she has the finale and change up speed to win.
1 The Novelist (Bet Now: $SP.00) will put himself on speed and take beating, as seen at Kembla on Gong Day when leading throughout and credit to him, he found under pressure to fend them off and win. He looks the leader here and with control, will take running down.
2 Rush Hour (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Russian Revolution that resumes for Nathan Doyle, with this horse being no stranger to Magic Millions races given he won The Debut in 2023. He hasn’t been seen since July 6 when struggling on bog ground at Randwick in a Midway but has looked sharp in trial work, so I am anticipating a strong run fresh.
Race 5. (16:05) Vanderpoel Smash Repairs Midway (Bm64) 1100m
Unfortunately not eight runners to make it an each way moral, but I am still keen to back 7 Leave Me Some (Bet Now: $SP.00) at the good odds. I thought her run at Canterbury was outstanding. The pattern was savage inside and this girl, despite drawing gate one, came widest on the turn and was no hope, but did close off with purpose in defeat. Good record at this track and if it is playing fair, I think she’ll give this an almighty shake.
6 Welcome Gypsy (Bet Now: $SP.00) has returned well for the in form John Thompson camp and commands respect. She resumed over 1000m here where she found the trip short of her best but closed her race off quite well in defeat behind impressive winner Zealously. Fitter and up in trip, she takes beating.
10 Skye Banner (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Brett Partelle, having not raced since Oct 18 at Taree when finding heavy ground and struggled to pick his feet up in the conditions. Tick over trial was quite good and maps to get a much better run in transit.
Race 6. (16:40) Wyong Magic Millions 2Yo Classic 1100m
6 Tempestuous (Bet Now: $SP.00) does seem a good thing to my eye. GaiBott trained colt that debuted in the Breeders Plate when near the speed before angling clear and presented to win but just found one better in the ill fated King Kirk. Spelled, trialled up very well for the return and I think Nash will take bad luck out of it. Take him to the front and dominate proceedings.
4 Offenbach (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a juvenile with talent and Michael Freedman is very good with a young horse. He debuted over 900m at Newcastle and kept chasing in defeat but couldn’t quite get there when second. Like him up in trip, maps perfect and has the race fitness.
9 O’Ole (Bet Now: $SP.00) will put herself on speed and give cheek. She comes through the Golden Gift from several weeks ago where she did work to land on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when fifth to North England. The depth here isn’t as deep and better for the run under the belt, she appeals as a knockout hope.
Race 7. (17:15) Sky Racing (Bm68) 1300m
8 Calgary King (Bet Now: $SP.00) has done little wrong in recent times for Blake Ryan and commands respect. He ran over 1200m at Goulburn last time out when off the speed on testing ground and just couldn’t quite pick up when third to Hot Bandit. The rise to 1300m should be fine and firmer footing, appeals.
1 Angara (Bet Now: $SP.00) appeals big time back tot his level of race after resuming at Kembla on Gong Day when outclassed but far from disgraced in defeat behind Pisanello, who would be $1.10 against these, so that form reads well and fitter, up in trip, she’s hard to beat.
4 Ceasefire (Bet Now: $SP.00) is dangerous with his best. He has home track advantage for Kim Waugh, having last raced a few weeks back at Kembla when just off the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through behind Welcometobarbados. If he can overcome the draw, he’ll be around the mark.
