Race 1. (13:02) Andrew Mills 1000 Guineas (64) 1000m
1 Virtual Illusion (Bet Now: $SP.00) could maybe earn himself a ticket to Melbourne if he wins here and makes it 2/2. Big debut win two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks, giving them a start and a beating in an electric debut performance. If he can reproduce that effort here, I think he’s the one they have to beat.
2 Golden Horizon (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Travis Doudle trained gelding that resumes after a two run prep as a juvenile, the second start seeing him win over 1100m at Morphettville on May 31. Looks to have trialled up nicely for his return and has a good racing style.
3 Snallygaster (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a stablemate of Virtual Illusion that is on debut. Son of Stratum Star that looks to have trialled well enough for start one on a couple of occasions. Whether he is good enough to win on debut here, not sure, but watch betting.
Race 2. (13:37) Rural City Of Murray Bridge - Moorundi Classic 900m
5 Inhabit (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Stay Inside filly that led throughout to win a trial here last week. She showed really good early toe to lead and was under a hold throughout by Pannell, going on to win quite comfortably and ran good time for the trial session. Home track advantage, she’s here to rock and roll.
7 Rebel Tuesday (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Rebel Dane filly for Phillip Stokes that won a trial here last week as well, but the time was nothing compared to what Inhabit did. But, the stable is flying at the moment and the tick is that when asked for the effort, she responded.
6 Meadows Flyer (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran second to Inhabit in the trial here last week. She was second throughout and although well held by the winner, she beat the rest comfortably in her own right. She looks to have ability so I wouldn’t dismiss her.
Race 3. (14:12) Spry Civil Constructions (Bm84) 2000m
1 Test The Law (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 2000m after racing over 1800m in the Coleraine Cup where he was held but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Commander Harry. Better set up here, home track advantage, he rates highly I say in what looks a winnable race.
4 Dark’N’Confidential (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a slight query at 2000m but it is hard to knock the way he is racing at present with two wins on the bounce, the latest coming last Saturday over 1800m at Morphettville and albeit the margin was narrow, he was strong. Commands respect.
2 Arugamama (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a forgive I thought from the Benalla Cup. She got off speed and was wide when making a run, just feeling the pinch late. Returns home and her best is clearly good enough to take this out.
Race 4. (14:47) Reg Nolan Flying Hcp 1200m
I think 4 Chicago Storm (Bet Now: $SP.00) will run really well first up. He resumes for David Aldridge, having not raced since June 7 when down the track in the VOBIS Gold Mile at Flemington. He does go well fresh and a recent trial win was sharp, so watch betting.
1 Fancify (Bet Now: $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Michael Hickmott since resuming in the Whylie at Morphettville when on speed and doing work but was trucking before being clicked up and looked home but was nabbed late by Watchme Win. Good racing style, he takes beating.
5 My Khalifa (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes through the Whylie from four weeks back. He got a mile out of his ground and while he was never threatening, his finale was more than sound I thought. If he’s within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.
Race 5. (15:27) Fore + Flex (Bm64) 1100m
6 Misludi (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Phillip Stokes trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since May 3 when down the track at Morphettville behind the Stakes performed Lovely Lookin, which does read well for a race like this, and her trial work to get ready has been more than encouraging.
12 Rein Of Nine (Bet Now: $SP.00) has run well at the track/distance previously and overall, this isn’t an overly strong race. She ran two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks when off speed, ridden closer, and seemed to have her chance but just whacked in the run to the line behind Thunder Shoc. Her best is good enough so for mine, she commands respect.
1 Starlite Valley (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Aug 30 over over 1200m at Morphettville when on speed and just felt the pinch late behind Cicala. Likes the short course and back to this level, she appeals as a knockout hope.
Race 6. (16:02) Gifford Hill Estate (Bm64) 1100m
11 Capitalex (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to have returned in beast mode and is one of the hardest to beat. He resumed with a bang over 1000m here in a maiden, giving them a start and an absolute beating in such an impressive return. Natural upside/improvement, confident he measures up here.
9 Streetcar Fury (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He ran over 1000m three weeks ago at Morphettville Parks when back, wide with cover, and kept finding the line in defeat behind Free Beer. Bursting to win IMO and commands respect.
5 Ginger Sinner (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1000m at Morphettville Parks when first up. He was off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Mt Niseko. Fitter, can settle closer in the run, upside, dangerous.
Race 7. (16:42) Thomas Farms Hcp (64) 1400m
7 Extra Hot (Bet Now: $SP.00) is hard to beat. She got off speed over this trip two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks when held up behind runners but got clear and was good late in the piece when third to Pearl Adios. Hard to knock the way she’s racing and strikes a winnable race.
8 Falanghina (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a key threat after resuming a fortnight back on the Parks track at Morphettville where she got back to near last in the run but really liked the way she closed her race off in defeat behind Nicish. Likely spots them a start but will be strong late.
6 Collated (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came in the Pearl Adios race from two weeks back at Morphettville Parks. He got off speed and while he was never threatening, he did make up ground and was a definite pass mark. Has run well at the track/distance previously, he commands respect.
Race 8. (17:22) Murray Bridge Gold Cup 1600m
5 Watadeel (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in a purple patch, has found winning form, and he can certainly go on with it. That win came two weeks ago over 1550m at Morphettville Parks where he looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted to win quite comfortably. Hard to beat against these.
9 Cartoon Graveyard (Bet Now: $SP.00) commands respect for Will Clarken. He just missed out on the win three weeks ago at Morphettville Parks over 1400m, sitting off speed and kept finding the line in a good effort in defeat. Fitter, 1600m, rates highly.
7 Pudding (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door for Team Jolly. He ran a game second to Sav On Ice in the Balaklava Cup before running second to Watadeel in the race mentioned above when on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. Not sure he wins but is around the mark.
Race 9. (17:58) Sportsbet Same Race Multi (Bm72) 1400m
12 Headphones (Bet Now: $SP.00) saves her best for this track/distance and with that, she’s the each way speck. Hasn’t raced since Sep 20 over 1400m at Morphettville Parks when off speed and just battled late behind Easy Campese. Back to where she races best, she’s the each way play.
4 Surprise Coming (Bet Now: $SP.00) should prove hard to beat after resuming over 1250m two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks. He got off speed and although he took a little while to wind into his work, he was good in defeat when a close up fifth to Ndola. Fitter and up to 1400m, he takes beating.
8 Hard Prince (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an improver up in trip for Team Jolly. He resumed behind Ndola two weeks back at Morphettville Parks. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Good track/distance record, he commands respect.
