Race 1. (12:45) Senpos Point Of Sale (Bm64) 1600m
Not an overly deep but but I do think it’s an ideal kick off point for 2 Blackcomb (Bet Now:Β $SP.00), who is having her first run for Kris Lees after formerly being with Danny O’Brien. Once upon a time, she looked Stakes class, but she didn’t really go on with that promise. Last run was over a month ago at Morphettville over 2000m when placing behind Orbital Express, who was a solid horse at this level when racing in NSW, so with that in mind, she appeals to make a winning debut for the new stable.
6 Broadway Bouncer (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is 2/2 this time in for Kristen Buchanan and has home track advantage. Kept finding the line to win fresh in a Newcastle maiden before going to Hawkesbury where he again had to dig in to win and credit to him, he found under pressure to score. Bred to appreciate a mile and does strike a winnable race, so he commands respect.
1 Silvakia (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Brad Widdup trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since May 6 when down the track in the Gold Coast Bracelet at the Sunny Coast behind impressive winner Renaissance Woman. Better suited over a bit further, but has trialled well leading in to my eye and does have a touch of quality.
Race 2. (13:20) Wiseberry Heritage Midway Mdn 1350m
2 Drialle (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) on top but not much confidence and not a race I really want to get involved in. This guy has been solid in two runs back from a spell, resuming with a second at Kembla before going to a strong maiden at Newcastle and was far from disgraced in defeat. The depth here is non existent and despite a tricky gate, he clearly has the runs on the board.
6 Miss Artfire (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Kristen Buchanan trained mare that resumes. This girl hasn’t raced since her debut back in September last year when down the track in the 1200m maiden on this raceday, a race which has produced six winners. Trial work has been extensive and with home track advantage, you’d assume she is wound up to go. Watch the market.
1 Bonus Tempus (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is one that I can entertain for wider multiples. He’s had two runs back from a spell, both at Kembla. He went around like a barrier trial first up before sitting wide no cover last time and that early burn told late when down the track. If he gets a more economical run in transit, he can pinch a first four spot.
Race 3. (13:55) Hunter Petroleum Products (C1) 1100m
Strong Class One this with a host of chances. Leaning the way of 4 The King (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) for Team Snowden. He resumes, having not raced since the Brisbane Winter Carnival when outclassed in a couple of Stakes races and was spelled soon after. Moved well in a recent Rosehill trial behind Masked Crusader and from the gate, he’ll get run of the race. Happy to be in his corner.
1 Jedibeel (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has done little wrong in a four start career for Brad Widdup and is one of the hardest to beat. He resumed at Kembla when wide no cover throughout but despite the hard run, he kept finding and looked home, only to be nabbed late by Dancing Alone, an unbeaten mare who is odds on for Randwick on Saturday. If that hasn’t busted him, he’ll take beating.
8 Los Padres (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is capable with his best…just a matter of where is he at. Last run was August 8 at Hawkesbury when seemingly getting every chance but didn’t fire a shot in a plain effort behind Clovelly. Tick over trial last week was strong and stable get J Mac to steer, so I think watch the market and see what it does.
Race 4. (14:35) C'coast Coolroom Da Vinci-Bm64 1300m
3 Razors (Bet Now:Β $SP.00), you’d think, has this lot covered. He’s come back in really good order for James Cummings, winning impressively here fresh before going to Hawkesbury where he should have won but was given little hope with the ride from Reith, eventually getting out late and driving hard to just miss. J Mac on, hard fit, lands in a plum spot..should be winning.
1 Memoria (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and give them something to chase. Kris Lees trained mare that was a strong all the way winner at Newcastle last time. Credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and win. More depth here, but good racing style and gets in well after the claim.
5 One Kind (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is one I can entertain for wider multiples. This filly has had two runs back from a spell, resuming with a strong win at Tuncurry before going here where she had a suck run in transit but didn’t really finish it off. On the quick back up, so that’s a big tick and maps to do no work. Can place.
Race 5. (15:10) Bishop Collins C.A. Super Mdn 1200m
The $11 opening price with TAB…calling BS on that, but 4 Balkans (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) does look the good thing on the program. He resumes for James Cummings after just one run in the Winter, which came at Canterbury when a short priced favourite but not much went right behind Epic Proportions. Given a break and his two trials to get ready have been sparkling. J Mac on from a soft draw, he should be taking care of these.
9 Xidaki (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a son of Zoustar for Team Snowden that is on debut. This three year old has had two trials to get ready for start one, winning the first one at Randwick before placing at Rosehill. Both trials were over 1000m so he’s had the grounding to run well at start one and has the gate to get a suck run. The key and I dare say only threat.
1 Dreambender (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) would be a moral if they put him in a country maiden. He is a nice horse for Todd Howlett that resumes, having not raced since Jan 13 at Gosford when back and making up good ground behind Du Jour Idea. Moved well in a recent trial win at Muswellbrook and while he lacks the quality of some of these, i think he is a lock to run top four.
Race 6. (15:50) Mona Lisa Stakes 1350m
8 Banana Queen (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should be ready to go. Condition just looked to give way first up at Randwick behind Anagain. She then raced at Rosehill in a strong 100 race, thrown in the deep end, and didn’t really measure up at all behind Pericles. Better suited here and third up from a spell, she should just about be at peak fitness.
6 Va Via (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) deserves a crack at Stakes grade. She is flying for James Cummings. Kept on the fresh side when winning here a fortnight back, where she was there to be beaten by Climbing Star but she kicked under pressure, fended off the rival and was too good in the run to the line. Clearly a harder assignment here, but she has certainly earned a crack.
13 Anagain (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has been up a little while but is holding her form pretty well. Got a well deserved win two back at Randwick before going to Rosehill a few weeks back where she was able to use an inside gate to advantage and stuck to the task gamely in defeat behind Powerful Peg. Stakes grade is a slight query but with a soft trip in transit, I think she’ll be okay and is a knockout chance.
Race 7. (16:25) Wyong Gold Cup 2100m
8 Kalapour (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) on top. Kris Lees trained gelding that has been kept on ice, several weeks between runs since contesting the Premiers Cup Prelude where he was slightly held up at times but managed to got clear and worked home strongly when a close up second to Bold Mac. Fitter, up in trip, maps ideally, he’ll take beating against these.
7 Hosier (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is one of the leading chances. Mick Minervini trained gelding that comes here in winning form after taking out the Premiers Cup, finding wet ground, getting a rise in trip and he was far too good for them under a peach from Collett, who sticks. Tricky gate to overcome but hard to knock how he’s racing.
16 Benaud (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has to be given another look. Broke a long run of outs at this track/distance two back before going to the Grafton Cup where he was wide no cover throughout and rightfully dropped out behind Zoumon. Tick over trial was a good piece of work and with a more economical run in transit, he is certainly good enough.
Race 8. (17:05) The Doylo Springtime (Bm68) 1100m
2 Flying Destiny (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the way I am leaning in the get out. Michael Freedman trained gelding that resumed at Hawkesbury where the market said he was there to run well and #They knew because he sat on speed and kicked strongly late when challenged to fend them off and win. He does race well early on in a prep and maps ideally once again. Happy to be in his corner.
3 Chipper (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has home track advantage and commands respect for Kim Waugh. He does tend to save his best for his home track, where he has raced his past two. Latest was just under a month ago when an impressive winner over 1000m, sitting near the speed before being clicked up by Jay Ford and he gapped them late for a sharp. Tricky gate, but should press forward and take beating.
8 Amazing Nicci (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is that can fill a first four spot. Market kept her safe when resuming on testing ground at Goulburn but she just looked in need of the run when fourth, beaten just under four lengths. Gets in well after the claim and should be able to hold a forward spot from the inside gate. Doubt she wins, but a must for multiples.
