Coffs Harbour trainer Gordon Yorke has been fined $7000 for Mooltan having elevated levels of testosterone in his system in a race in January.
Yorke pleaded guilty to the charge after the analyst’s findings of Mooltan having a concentration of testosterone above the level prescribed for geldings in his urine sample following his win in a maiden at Grafton on January 18.
Racing NSW stewards conducted an inquiry on Wednesday, and after taking evidence and considering Yorke’s cooperation and prior good record, issued the fine.
Mooltan was disqualified from his first placing.
