All Welcome to the Sydney Racing Mass

Australian Turf Club is hosting the Sydney Annual Racing Fraternity Mass in the Winx Stand, Gallery North, at Royal Randwick Racecourse at 11am on Sunday 8 March.

Everyone’s welcome! with the intent of the service being to offer prayers for those in the racing industry and is open to all people, regardless of their faith background.

With free parking is available in the multi-storey carpark, the entry is via the Ascot Street gate off Doncaster Avenue and refreshments will be served after the Mass.

“The Racing Mass is attended by people of all denominations and by people who are non-churched.” said Rev. Colin Watts of the ARCC – Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy.

“Representing all sections of the racing industry, the Mass is offered for the well-being of the racing industry with many of Sydney’s jockeys taking part as do heads of most parts of the industry.”

“We have departments of racing at the Racing Mass including bookmakers, racing administrators, club members, breeding and owner association members, media representatives and punters.”

“Australian Turf Club gives great support to this event and many of the race trophies, including a number of other symbols, will be included in the procession entering church for the Mass.”

“Prayers are offered for those who are sick and included in the items in the procession and eventually left at the altar is a special jockeys’ bereavement book.”

“With the names of every jockey who has lost his or her life in Australian racing, and people from all walks of life and faiths are very welcome.”

The Quayclean Night Rider Jockey Series concluded of Friday evening with over $36,000 donated to community groups and charities who operate around Canterbury Park Racecourse.

First across the line was the Earlwood School Parents Association, for the Earlwood Public School, in taking out the first prize of $10,000 with Tommy Berry on 46 points, having led into the final day.

Zac Lloyd claimed second place for the Morris Children’s Fund on 32 points while Jason Collett on 26 points was third for Meals On Wheels, followed by Tim Clark with 26 for Turbans for Australia.

Now in its 8th year, the Pink Fashion Lunch will take place at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 14 March, with all proceeds raised by ATC Foundation in supporting Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation.

In fact, over $100,000 has already been donated to the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation over the past three years.

Hosted in the Grand Pavilion, the Pink Fashion Lunch features a curated three-course menu, a vibrant runway show, live entertainment, and premium raceday views.

The ATC Foundation will celebrate the Sydney Autumn Carnival through the sale of Golden Slipper and Championship pins, with the commemorative pin being more than a keepsake.

As a meaningful way to show your support for charitable causes and the community, it’s in addition to the saddle cloths from key Group 1 races that will be auctioned off throughout Autumn Carnival.
