Corine Barande-Barbe is eager to mull the results of this weekend’s Super Saturday meeting in Dubai before mapping out a plan for Cirrus Des Aigles.
The six-year-old won the 10-furlong (2000m) Champion Stakes in October to add to his previous four triumphs in Group Two and Three company last term.
Cirrus Des Aigles went on to run with credit in Hong Kong, but suffered a surprise defeat when making his return on the Chantilly all-weather last weekend.
With Meydan staging trials for the main Dubai World Cup night races this weekend, Barande-Barbe will see how the fields are shaping up before committing to a run.
“He seems to be very well after his run,” she said.
“I knew he would need the race and it turned into a little bit of a sprint – we didn’t want to give him a hard race.
“We will go to Dubai now for either the World Cup or the Sheema Classic, I’m not sure which race yet.
“We need to see who is running where before we can make a decision.
“I might prefer the turf race (12-furlong (2400m) Sheema Classic) but we have no need to make a decision yet.
“The extra distance would not worry me as he was placed in a Group One behind Sarafina and she was very good.
“It is hard to make a decision and we will see what happens at the trials on Saturday.”
