Glorious Goodwood 2026 continues this Friday night, headlined by the Qatar Stakes (1006m), which is likely the race that will be the swansong of the great Aussie sprinting mare Asfoora.

King George Qatar Stakes 🏆: View the Field and Odds for the King George Qatar Stakes

3 Defiantly (Bet Now: $6.50) is the straight bat play. He comes through the Ascot Stakes at Royal Ascot, sitting on speed and tried his guts out but just found one better in Kizlyar. He has the run under the belt at the trip, good racing style, he’ll do me.

4 Valiancy (Bet Now: $3.80) steps up in trip after racing over 2800m in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot. I thought he was set a task, getting a mile out of his ground but worked home pretty well late. If he can be within range, he’s got the finale to score.

2 Duke Of Oxford (Bet Now: $27.00) comes through the John Smith’s Silver Cup where he got into a decent spot in transit and just whacked in the run to the line. Hard horse to catch but has talent and the big tick is Ryan Moore.

6 Talk Of New York (Bet Now: $1.55) looks a good thing here. He ran out of his skin in the St James’ Palace, trying hard from near the speed but couldn’t quite see it through when third to Bow Echo. That is A1 form for this race and if there is petrol left in the tank, good luck beating him.

7 Yazin (Bet Now: $10.00) ran down the track behind Talk Of New York at Sandown. He got into a decent spot in transit but when asked for the effort, he was tired, green and dropped right out. If he brings his best, he is dangerous.

5 Shayem (Bet Now: $8.00) was an impressive winner of the Sir Henry Cecil at Newmarket, sitting on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Good test here, but think he can measure up.

14 Mirsky (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me. He comes through the Coral Challenge at Sandown where he was off speed but lost his spot, lost momentum and wasn’t a factor soon after. If the breaks go his way here, I think he’ll run really well.

6 Indalo (Bet Now: $5.00) commands respect after a win over the mile in the Coral Challenge at Sandown, finishing best from off speed to score. His confidence is up and this does appear to be a race well within reach.

4 Mister Winston (Bet Now: $23.00) comes through the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot. He was off speed throughout and was never really a factor. Much better suited here I feel and his best is good enough to be dangerous at odds.

3 Jakajaro (Bet Now: $6.50) for me. Close up in the King Charles at Royal Ascot before going to the Sapphire at Curragh when on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late. Think with a more patient steer, he can be strong late and take this out.

1 Night Raider (Bet Now: $3.90) sat on speed in the King Charles at Royal Ascot and gave a good sight from on speed but the end of the race, he just couldn’t quite see it through and was nabbed late. Similar to Jakajaro, a bunny to chase, he can win.

This is very much looking like the farewell start for 8 Asfoora (Bet Now: $11.00). She has been a great mare for Henry Dwyer and with her best, she’s dangerous and would nearly be top seed. She was awful at Sandown last time, getting off speed and failed to come on. If she brings her best, she can take this out.

1 Boiling Point (Bet Now: $6.00) is the way I am leaning. He attempted to lead throughout in the Saal Stakes at Sandown and gave a decent sight from the front but just felt the pinch late. 2000m back to 1800m, good racing style, he’ll take running down.

2 Jonquil (Bet Now: $6.50) was a total forgive from the Summer Mile at Ascot last time given he bombed the start and was never a factor, settling near last and pretty much stayed there. If he jumps clean and is within range, he can win.

6 Dividend (Bet Now: $11.00) ran last in the Saal Stakes mentioned above. He was last throughout and was never a factor, beaten a long way. Much better suited here, his best is good enough to be dangerous at odds.

I think 1 Persian Spring (Bet Now: $12.00) is an insane price here. He was luckless in the Norfolk at Royal Ascot when coming back in trip, got off speed and was going to work home well, but ran out of room late. Like him up in trip and with room to move, he’ll run a beauty.

4 The Dancing Pirate (Bet Now: $8.00) commands respect for Andrew Balding after a second over this trip at Chester. He landed on speed and tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite get there when second. Good racing style, good camp, he’s in the mix.

7 Clash Of Hearts (Bet Now: $7.00) didn’t beat a great deal at Pontefract last start but the manner in which he put them away, and won by a space, was ultra impressive. Good test here, but think he can measure up.

5 Into The Light (Bet Now: $5.00) comes through the King George at Royal Ascot when near the speed and thought he was going to win, at the very least threaten, but he didn’t fire and was weak late. Back slightly in trip is fine and if he has petrol left in the tank, he appeals here.

1 Silver State (Bet Now: $12.00) steps up in trip after leading at Chester over 2000m, giving a good sight from the front but couldn’t quite see it through when second to Morbeh. Good racing style and commands respect as a leading contender.

3 Echo Of Stars (Bet Now: $14.00) is a query at 2200m after racing over 2000m in the Golden Gate at Royal Ascot, leading and trying hard but tired to finish down the track. 2200m is fine, and I think with a patient steer, he’s dangerous.

2 Lady Dora Mae (Bet Now: $12.00) each way for me in the last. She comes back in trip after racing in the Lancashire Oaks at Newmarket when off speed and was never really a factor. Like her back in trip and with fresh legs, off prior efforts, she’ll run very well I think.

6 Room Fourteen (Bet Now: $3.00) is a leading chance after a win over this trip at Doncaster, giving her rivals a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Good test here against likely types but confident she can measure up.

1 Wisper (Bet Now: $14.00) ran third over 2300m at Windsor last time out, getting into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and get there when third. Back in trip suits and this is a race well within reach.
