5 Happy Boys (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top in what looks a bludger of a race to start the meeting. He comes back up to 1200m after going back to 1000m last time when off speed and although he made up ground, he was never a winning threat. Back up in trip looks a positive and gets Purton to steer.

6 Sky Song (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the the seven day back up after racing over 1000m here last Wednesday where he got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. Back up in trip is fine and he strikes a winnable race.

1 Blazing Beam (Bet Now:  $SP.00) drops to Class 5 grade after a couple of runs at Class 4 to start the prep. He hasn’t set the world on fire in those runs but back to this level, I say he’s a definite improver at odds.

4 Turin Warrior (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the straight bat play. He is several weeks between runs since a track/distance win, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display. Maos to do no work in the run and will be effective at the end.

7 Absolute Awakened (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran over this track/distance several weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground and was solid late but never really threatened. Tricky draw but if within range, he’s dangerous enough to win.

5 Prestige Ricky (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was good late two weeks back at this track/distance, getting a fair way back but made up good headway in defeat. Not far off a win and wouldn’t be a shock if it came here.

3 The Azure (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks one of the better gambles on the card. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance where he got dragged back from the wide gate and made up decent headway without threatening. Has a gate to settle much closer in the run and be effective late.

2 Quantum Patch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran over this track/distance a fortnight back where the race shape wasn’t really to his liking but he stayed on and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Corleone. Thunk with a more positive ride, he’s a definite threat.

8 Winning Data (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m at Sha Tin when off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish it off. The mile should be fine and is a definite threat with her best.

7 One Love (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is my on top selection but it does look a nothing race. He ran over this track/distance a few weeks ago where he seemingly got into a decent spot in transit but just whacked in the run to the line. Maps to do no work and his best is good enough to take this out.

3 Lean Master (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m here two weeks ago. He got back off the speed and was never threatening but kept chasing in a pretty good effort. Back up in trip, he commands respect.

1 Sugar Sugar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a fab track/distance record and comes back here after racing at Sha Tin where he tried hard but just lacked the class to go with them late. Better suited here, I say he’s right in the mix.

7 Yee Cheong Spirit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he got back off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good. Maps ideally and gets Purton aboard.

3 California Blitz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since an all the way win at this track/distance and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off snd score. Good test here, but will press forward and only run well.

5 Precision Hope (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to Happy Valley after debuting over 1200m at Sha Tin where he was raw and new to the caper and never really a factor. Had trialled well prior so I am not dismissing.

3 Liveandletlive (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is unknown at 2200m but he has got a good racing style and I think can get front end control, which will give him every chance to run the trip out. Far from disgraced his past couple of 1800m here, I think he’ll give a bold sight from the front.

2 Wrote A New Page (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran third over 1800m here three weeks ago to Joy Of Spring (Liveandletlive ran second). He got into a decent spot just behind the speed and tried hard but just lacked the killer blow to put them away. He’s racing like 2200m suits so he commands respect.

8 Charity Gain (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has placed in both runs at this track/distance and is racing like he will lap it up. He ran fifth in the Joy Of Spring race, seemingly having every chance but lacked change up speed. Better suited here, he’ll take holding out.

4 Genius Baby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a track/distance win, giving them a start and a beating in a very strong finale, lifted late by Teetan to score. He’ll spot them a start again but look to launch late.

Speaking of launching late, that is what 3 Free Pony (Bet Now:  $SP.00) did at this track/distance a fortnight back, producing an unbelievable finish to round them up and blouse them late. Tricky gate but has to be respected.

10 Awesome Treasure (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran a close up fourth at this track/distance four weeks back. He landed outside the speed and tried very hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Good racing style and will be in it for a long way.

10 Perfect General (Bet Now:  $SP.00) rises in Class for Caspar Fownes but there was plenty to like about his first up track/distance win three weeks ago, getting better as the race went on and was quite dominant from on speed. Tricky draw, but he should slide across quite comfortably and down in the weights, will take beating.

2 King Miles (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since a track/distance win, continuing the fruitful prep, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display. Hard to knock the way he’s racing and maps well once again.

1 Wonder Kit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and can run an improved race, especially dropping in Class. He ran in a strong Class 2 at Sha Tin down the straight and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Colourful King. Dangerous if he can overcome the tricky draw.

11 I Can (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will do me each way in the last. He ran over this track/distance last Wednesday night where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. If he can settle closer and be within range, he has the finale to take this out.

7 Regal Gem (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Talented youngster for Frankie Lor that steps up to the mile off a mini freshen up, his last run being an impressive win over 1200m here on Nov 5. Ability wise, I think he is the best horse in the race. Just a matter of whether he runs the trip. But, the good lead is that Purton is booked.

4 Huge Wave (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m here two weeks back. He got into a sticky spot from the wide gate, sitting wide no cover and the hard run told on him late in the piece. Proven track/distance performer, kinder map, definite threat.

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 11 I Can
