Nine races have been set down for Happy Valley on Wednesday night with good depth across the program.

4 Endued (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks hard to beat in the opener. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. Maps to settle much closer and be effective late.

1 Jumbo Treasure (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when on speed throughout and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Sky Cap. Good racing style and overall, this isn’t a deep contest.

6 Metal King (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one to be entertained at odds. He ran three weeks back at this track/distance when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a good effort in defeat. Dangerous for mien if he can use the inside gate to advantage.

9 Sterling Wongchoy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. He comes to Happy Valley after racing voer 1200m at Sha Tin. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. The rise in trip should be fine and this race is thin.

7 Verbier (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will land on speed and take running down, as seen four weeks ago over 1800m here when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick but just felt the pinch late. Tricky draw, but a good racign style and is a leading contender.

3 Apolar Fighter (Bet Now:  $SP.00) contested the same race as Verbier, won by Leather Master. He got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but just lacked the finale to go with them late. Not sure I could back him to win but is one for exotics.

2 Written Casa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He ran over 1200m here three weeks ago where he got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but just lacked the quality to go with them late behind Happy Fat Cat. The rise in trip I find interesting but he drops in Class and does get Zac Purton to steer.

1 Thesis (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the leading chances after placing at this track/distance a fortnight back. He got back off the pace before being presented clear air and loomed to win but just found one better in Ivy League. Runs up to that here and he’ll go close.

10 Gallant Crown (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He seemingly got the right run in transit but just lacked the finale to go with them late in the piece. Not sure he is good enough to win but can run top four.

7 Dragon Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been runner up in both runs this prep and looks primed to go one better. Latest run was three weeks ago at this track/distance when on speed and was there to win but just found one better in The Azure, who would be close to favourite here. Form reads well and despite the tricky gate, is the one to beat.

2 Mighty Commander (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the key threat after a placing at this track/distance a fortnight back. He landed just off the speed and looked the winner when presented clear air. Just didn’t quite finish his race off when third. Lands in a plum spot and should be around the mark.

10 Jumbo Fortune (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth to Ivy League in a race mentioned above. He was a short priced favourite and didn’t have the clearest of paths in the run but that said, I did think he had his chance. Finding it hard to win but is a model of consistency.

12 Day Day Victory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in a purple patch and it’s hard to get away from him. He has won two on the bounce, both coming at this track/distance. Latest of those wins was two weeks ago where he got the right run in transit before being let down and he was quite dominant late in the piece. Tricky gate, but he is one of the hardest to beat.

1 Happy United (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He did early work to land near the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when fifth. Much kinder map this time around and gets in okay after the claim.

10 Happy Boys (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran down the track in the same race that Happy United contested, won by Super Sixty. He got back from the tricky gate and was never really a factor. He had trialled up well prior to the debut so I am not dismissing him.

2 Super Sixty (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks hard to beat after winning the race mentioned above, giving them a start and a beating, letting down with purpose late to score. He is a track/distance winner and being a strong last start victor, I think he’s the way to go.

6 Loving Vibes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was knocking on the door to win and he broke the elusive maiden tag last start, giving them a start and a beating from off the speed to get that elusive win. His confidence is up now, Zac sticks, rates highly.

9 Glorious Ryder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of All Too Hard that is on debut for David Eustace. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one, the latest piece of work seeing him run over 1200m here and didn’t move too bad I thought. Tricky draw, but watch betting.

3 Beauty Infinity (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the each way gamble on the program. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he kept chasing from off the speed and was good in defeat behind Chateauneuf. Loves this set up, he’ll drift back from the wide gate but think he’ll be quite strong at the end.

5 King Miles (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second in the race mentioned above and he was the real eye catcher late from the back, working home with real purpose late in the piece. Has a gate to use, settle much closer in the run, and does get Zac sticking.

1 Sugar Sugar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got into a tricky spot from the gate, didn’t get the clearest of paths in the run…I’d be forgiving of his effort behind Power Koepp. More positive ride and I think he’s dangerous.

12 Harold Win (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take beating here. Son of Swiss Ace that ran over 1400m at Sha Tin last start where he got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when third to Everyone’s Star. That form does read quite well. Just needs to run the mile out and he wins.

2 A Americ Te Specso (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for John Size and has to be given respect. He has won his past two, the latest win being three weeks ago when giving them a start and a beating, letting down with purpose late to win and win well. He’s in career best form and is one of the leading contenders.

4 Star Contact (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran down the track behind A Americ Te Specso. He did early work to land on speed and the early burn just told on him late in the piece when down the track. I think with a more patient steer, he’s quite dangerous.

6 Romantic Son (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps in the get out. He is five weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when just off the pace and seemed to have his chance, just battling late behind Giant Leap. Tick over trial was sharp and looks to get a kind map.

1 Happy Fat Cat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will land on the speed and take running down. Three weeks between runs since an all the way win at this track/distance and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Good racing style, genuine and is in form.

2 Superb Capitalist (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a wide gate to overcome but does have early speed to overcome it. He attempted to lead throughout two weeks back here and gave a decent kick but just felt the pinch late in the piece. If he can get across and not spend too many petrol tickets, he’s dangerous.

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 6 Romantic Son
