Nine races will be run and won at Happy Valley this Wednesday night with good depth across the program.

3 Telecom Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He last ran five weeks ago at this track/distance when on speed and fought hard but he couldn’t quite get there snd finish the job. Good racing style and a tick over trial was encouraging.

4 Sterling Wongchoy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1200m here two weeks ago. He got back to near last in the run and worked home with real purpose late. If he can settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

2 Lucky Blessing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been kept on the fresh side since Jan 28 at this track/distance when off speed and was good late without threatening. If he can be within range, he’s good enough to take this out.

1 Mighty Steed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He hasn’t raced since Feb 1 over the mile at Sha Tin where he seemed to have his chance but just battled late. Looks suited back to this level and strikes a winnable race.

7 Inno Super (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs since a track/distance win, sitting just off speed and came with a well timed run to score. Tick over trial was good and despite the tricky gate, he’s a leading contender.

8 Shooting To Top (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the debut run, which came over 1400m at Sha Tin. He got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never threatening, I did like the way he finished his race off. Fitter and up in trip, he’s in the mix.

4 Harmony Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat after a first up placing on Feb 11 at this track/distance, sitting off speed and working home well when third. Needs luck but if he gets it, he takes beating.

3 Beauty Thunder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second in the race mentioned above, won by Bunta Baby. He settled near the speed and looked there to win but just couldn’t quite get there. Racing well and should be around the mark.

2 Captain Link (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1400m at Sha Tin on Feb 14 where he didn’t really fire a shot and was a bit plain. Fresh legs and back to 1000m…he’s a definite market watch for mine.

12 World Hero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat after racing over this trip last Sunday at Sha Tin. He got a fair way out of his ground and was good late when fourth. Hopefully can settle closer in the run and will take holding out.

1 Very Grateful (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, I did like the way he closed off. If he can get luck in the run and be hard to beat.

2 Superb King (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to Happy Valley after racing over this trip at Sha Tin when near the speed and tried hard but just whacked late. He will need luck from the gate but is capable of being around the mark.

1 King Oberon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the best each way gamble on the card. He hasn’t raced since Jan 1 at Sha Tin when down the track but looked a tired horse. He does seem to thrive fresh and he likes racing at Happy Valley. Trial work has been strong and with luck from the gate, will take holding out.

4 Jolly Companion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when on speed, ridden with intent, and tried hard, but felt the pinch late. If he brings his best, he can win,

3 Diamond Sparkle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of So You Think that debuts. Mark Newnham trained gelding that has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one and hasn’t looked too bad so watch betting and see what it does.

3 Ace War (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1800m from 2200m but that should be fine and off last start and how dominant he was, he’s a clear top seed. He gave them a start and a beating in such an impressive performance. He’s a clear top seed.

4 Amazing Gaze (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is just under a few weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Sha Tin where he got back to near last in the run and was good late when third. If he can get a drag into the race, he’ll take holding out.

8 Can’t Go Wong (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t raced since Feb 4 over 1800m here. He got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but lacked the finale and was weak late. Tick over trial was solid, I am not dismissing entirely.

7 Romantic Son (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying and has to be top seed. Big wins his last two at this track/distance, the latest being on Feb 4 when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Tick over trial was sharp, he can settle much closer in the run and be effective late.

1 Colourful King (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a slight query at 1200m but does bring the class factor. He ran down the straight over 1000m at Sha Tin last start and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when second. If the 1200m is fine, he’s right in the mix.

6 Crimson Flash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing in the Hong Kong Classic Mile when outclassed, finishing down the track behind Little Paradise. Prior efforts were sound and I do think back to 1200m is a big tick.

9 Flying Wrote (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to overcome the tricky draw but hard to knock the way he’s racing at present. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when just off speed and did try hard but couldn’t quite get there when second. Ideal map in his corner, he’s one of the leading contenders.

10 Straight To Glory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a midfield effort at this track/distance where he seemingly had his chance but lacked the killer finale. Maps to be in a fab spot and be effective late.

6 Matters Most (Bet Now:  $SP.00) attempted to lead throughout two weeks back at this track/distance. He gave a decent sight from the front but couldn’t see it through and felt the pinch late. Good racing style, he’ll give cheek I am sure.

Have to wait til the last for the good thing but I do think that 1 Max Que (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is indeed a good thing. He last ran on Feb 11 at this track/distance when off speed and worked home with real purpose in a good effort in defeat. Maps to land in a plum spot and be strongest late.

3 Do Your Party (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency and should be around the mark, as seen last start at Sha Tin over 1400m where near the speed and ran his usual honest race when third. Very genuine horse and despite the mile being a query, he’ll run well once again.

2 Noisy Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 2000m at Sha Tin last start where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he closed off alright in defeat. He’ll spot them a start but be strong late and is one for exotics.

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 3 Ace War

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 1 King Oberon
