4 Telecom Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me in the opener. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance where he got back off speed and kept chasing without threatening. If he can use the inside gate to advantage, he takes beating.

1 Bling Bling Genius (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Dec 20 over 1400m at Sha Tin when off speed and was solid late in the piece. Like the rise in trip for him and he strikes a winnable race.

5 Podium (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing four weeks back over 1200m here when just failing to come on in a somewhat plain finale. Rise in trip is interesting but his best is good enough to be dangerous.

12 Modest Gentleman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when back near last in the run and was very good late. If he can settle a pair closer in the run, he’ll take holding out.

1 Island Breeze (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran third in the race mentioned above, won by Savvy Twinkle. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. Tricky gate but he commands respect.

7 Brilliant Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m after racing four weeks back over 1200m here. He tried hard in transit and was there to threaten but just couldn’t quite get there. Back to 1000m I like, he’s right in the mix.

2 Noble Pursuit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat. He ran four weeks ago over this track/distance. He got back to near last in the run but worked home with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat. If within range, he has the finale to take this out.

3 Absolute Awakened (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over this track/distance. He was there to win I thought when landing on speed but couldn’t quite finish the job. Think with a more patient steer, he’ll be far more effective.

7 Kolachi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1200m at Sha Tin several weeks back where he failed to fire and was a bit on the plain side. Rising to the mile I find interesting but I’d say watch betting and see what it does.

6 Bits Superstar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks one of the better bets on the program. He ran over this track/distance four weeks ago where he got off speed and attacked the line pretty well late when second. Tick over trial was good and gets Purton steering.

1 Superb King (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He ran second a fortnight back at this track/distance, sitting on speed and was there to win but just found one better. Tricky draw but will press forward and be around the mark.

5 Lightning Ace (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Ace High that debuts. His trial work has been nothing to jump up and down about but he hasn’t been too bad, he’ll be strong late…I doubt he wins but he can run first four.

2 Bunta Baby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance where he got back off speed and worked home quite well late in the piece when third. If he can settle that little bit closer, he’ll take holding out against these.

1 Beauty Thunder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second in the race mentioned above, won by Copartner Fleet. He lobbed outside the speed and I thought was there to win but just couldn’t quite get the job done. Tricky draw but will press forward and be around the mark.

4 Jackson Habit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Frosted that debuts for Jimmy Ting. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one and for the most part hasn’t looked too bad. Likely spots them a start but will be strong late, so watch betting.

Hard to get away from 2 Max Que (Bet Now:  $SP.00). Dominant win four weeks ago at this track/distance, sitting off speed before being presented clear air and he got better as the race went on. Tick over trial was good, Purton to ride…ticks a lot of boxes.

5 Mister Dapper (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m at Sha Tin last start when trying hard but I do think 1800m was just a bridge too far. Much better suited here and can run an improved race.

1 Flying Fortress (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing a few weeks back over 1400m at Sha Tin. He got into a decent spot in transit but couldn’t quite finish the race off. I think the mile is okay and his best is good enough to be dangerous.

1 Meowth (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am going. He ran second two weeks ago at this track/distance, settling off speed but was quite good late in the piece when second. Maps ideally, strong late, takes beating here.

3 Flying Wrote (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth in the race mentioned above. He was brave in defeat after sitting wide no cover throughout, he battled on quite gamely in defeat. Maps better this time around, he’s dangerous.

8 Zeta Hedge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to Happy Valley after racing down the straight at Sha Tin last time where he was very green and didn’t seem to handle the track at all. Better suited here, I am not dismissing him.

3 Sports Legend (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. He ran four weeks ago at this track/distance where you can make a case to say he wins if he jumps clean instead of going sideways when the gates opened. He was brave in defeat so with better luck in running this time around, he’ll take holding out.

11 Amazing Kid (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has won three on the bounce and commands respect. Latest came a fortnight back here, getting the dream run in transit and finished best to score. He’ll press forward and take beating against these despite the Class rise.

7 Sovereign Fund (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini freshen up since Dec 14 over this trip at Sha Tin. He lobbed handy but didn’t fire late and was quite plain. He does have a good track/distance record, so he could pinch first four at odds.

11 Beauty Glory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way in the last. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I did like the way he closed his race off in defeat. If he can use the gate and settle closer, he will take holding out,

7 Refusetobeenglish (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. Narrow second at this track/distance a fortnight back, driving hard from off speed and just failed to get there. Tricky draw but with luck, he can take this out.

4 Spicy Gold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran down the track in the same race Refusetobeenglish contested. He settle handy and was there to threaten but didn’t finish the race off. Not sure he wins but can be included in multiples because he does have the talent to measure up.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 12 Modest Gentleman

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 11 Beauty Glory
