10/9/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Happy Valley

The 2025/26 Happy Valley racing season kicks off this Wednesday night with eight races set down.

4 Dan Attack (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks hard to beat for Doug Whyte, having not raced since July 16 when a close up third at this track/distance when trying his guts out but just missing. Tick over trial last week was sharp and maps ideally. Happy to be in his corner.

1 Super Charizzard (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumes for Mark Newnham and is dangerous. He didn’t quite set the world on fire towards the end of last prep but has had two trials to get ready, each time looking pretty good, and good lead that Purton steers.

5 Run Yes Run (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Yes Yes Yes that is first up. His last run came on Juiy 9 at this track/distance where he seemingly had his chance but was far from disgraced. Blinkers on for the return, watch betting and see what it does.

6 Harry’s Hero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He is first up, with his last run coming over the mile at Sha Tin when off speed and worked home well without threatening. He’ll spot them a start but should be strong at the end.

1 Wah May Wai Wai (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Tony Cruz trained gelding that hasn’t raced since July 16 when just off the speed and seemed to have his chance, tiring late in the piece. This isn’t an overly deep race so I say with his best, he can threaten.

2 Super Sicario (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m here towards the end of last season. He led and gave a decent kick from the front but just felt the pinch late, tiring. Back in trip I don’t mind and with a cheap lead, he’ll run very well I suspect.

5 Plentiful (Bet Now:  $SP.00) loves the track/distance and with that in mind, he is the straught bat play. He resumes after doing nice things last season, mainly at this track/distance. Lands in a good spot from the draw and should be around the mark. He’s the one to beat.

4 Grand Nova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1200m here on July 16 when off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there. He should be strong at the end of 1000n and gets Bowman to steer.

2 Moon Rocket (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Manhattan Rain that resumes for Danny Shum. He is first up, having not raced since June 22 when down the straight at Sha Tin, seemingly being an end of prep run. Trialled well leading in and this isn’t an overly deep race on paper.

8 The Auspicious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He last ran on July 13 over 1400m at Sha Tin. He got a fair way out of his ground but really liked the way he closed his race off when third. The mile should be fine, he can settle closer in the run and be effective late.

6 Setanta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but will be strong late, as seen on July 16 at this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run but was good late. If he can be within range, he has the finale to take this out.

5 Mighty Steed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. He attempted to lead throughout at this track/distance on July 9 when attempting to lead throughout and gave a decent kick but was nabbed late. Trial to get ready was quite good and with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

8 S J Tourbillon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ended last prep on a high with three wins and despite coming back to the mile, I think he’s the one to beat for mine. He ended last season with a win over 1800m when off speed and gave them a start and a beating. He’ll be strong late, in well after the claim…he’ll do me.

2 Highland Rahy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the likely leader and will take running down, as seen last season when ending the prep with a track/distance win. Purton aboard, should get front end control, one of the leading contenders.

3 I Can (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He hasn’t raced since Feb 26 over this track/distance when pulling up post race with blood in the trachea. Extensive trial break for the return but has looked solid so watch betting.

4 Amazing Run (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. David Hayes trained gelding that ended last season on a high with two wins, both coming at this track/distance. He doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but can sustain a long run and is one of the hardest to beat I say.

1 Quantum Patch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Gleneagles that resumes. He hasn’t raced since May 7 over this track/distance when far from disgraced in defeat behind a pretty solid animal, Keefy. Good fresh horse and has seemingly struck a winnable race.

7 Viva Graciousness (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Deep Field gelding that resumes for Tony Cruz. He is first up, having not raced since July 1 over the mile at Sha Tin when somewhat outclassed, finishing down the track. His best is good enough to be a threat so I say watch the market.

3 Glory B (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a real model of consistency when last in work and for mine, he seems the straight bat option. He last raced on June 11 when a track/distance winner, getting the beaut run in behind and finished best to score. Maps ideally for his return, he’ll be strong late…looks the one to my eye.

2 Bienvenue (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Star Turn that resumes for David Hayes. He is first up, having not raced since July 9 at this track/distance when off speed and worked home well when second. Tricky draw for the return but Zac steers and will be dangerous if he can a drag into the race.

8 Run Run Smart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Frankie Lor trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since May 21 at this track/distance when down the track, failing to come on. His best is more than good enough to threaten…one for wider exotics.

6 Storming Dragon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way in the last. Jamie Richards trained gelding that hasn’t raced since July 16 at this track/distance when back near last in the run but worked home with real purpose when second. Just needs to get a drag into the race and I think he’ll take beating here.

3 Sovereign Fund (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. He ended last season on a high when spanking at this track/distance on July 9, giving them a start and a beating. If he can settle closer from the draw, he’ll be hard to beat against these.

2 Power Koepp (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Mark Newnham trained gelding that ran fifth to Sovereign Fund in that race mentioned above. He landed near the speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late. He’ll be out of trouble near the speed and running an honest race I am sure.

NEXT BEST: Race Four Number 8 The Auspcious

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 6 Storming Dragon
