Coolmore’s star shuttle stallions land in Australia

Coolmore has welcomed the arrival of four of its headline stallions, led by record-priced sire Wootton Bassett, ahead of the 2025 breeding season in Australia.

The farm confirmed that Wootton Bassett, City Of Troy, St Mark’s Basilica and Storm Boy have all touched down and will enter quarantine before serving mares this spring.

All four sires will be showcased at Coolmore’s annual stallion parades at Jerrys Plains in late August, where breeders will get a first look at the star-studded roster.

Wootton Bassett continues to be one of the most sought-after sires in the world, with his first Coolmore-conceived crop in Ireland already producing 17 stakes winners, including five at Group 1 level. In Australia, his progeny have fetched up to $1.7 million at yearling sales, with 10 winners already emerging from his local crop. He returns for his fifth southern hemisphere season at a fee of $385,000.

Joining him is City Of Troy, a four-time Group 1-winning son of Justify, who begins his debut season in Australia at $49,500. Another Justify colt, Storm Boy, will also stand his first season for $16,500.

St Mark’s Basilica, a five-time Group 1 winner, will have his first Australian-conceived runners step out in the new season. He has already sired four winners from his initial European crop and will stand for $38,500 in the Hunter Valley this spring.
