Connections of Champion mare Winx have dismissed claims that the Worlds Best Racehorse would retire following her run in this years Cox Plate.
Rumours have surrounded whether Winx would race on after racing in the 2018 Cox Plate but part owner Debbie Kepitis has dismissed the claims saying the mare will have at least one more preparation.
“There has been no retirement talk, definitely not,’’ Kepitis told the Daily Telegraph.
“If all goes well, Winx will run in the Cox Plate, she will definitely go for a spell and then we will see how she is (next autumn),
“As Chris (Waller) keeps saying, she is racing so well you would be doing her a disservice by retiring her. She is enjoying it and wants to race.’’
Winx will start as the long odds on favourite in Cox Plate betting with bookmaker the TAB currently pricing her at $1.20 following her Turnbull Stakes win.
