Attention all race horse owners, here’s something that should peak your interest.
On 9th April this year (today), at the new and wonderful Inglis Sales complex at Riverside (fancy name for Warwick Farm race course), the annual Easter Yearling sale will take place.
And in there is a filly, an easy walking filly with a huge bum and powerful shoulders, gaskins et al, for sale.
Sure, there will be plenty by that description – but this one is different.
She is Lot 119. She is by Medaglia D’oro from the unraced mare Miss Atom Bomb and will be offered by Bhima Thoroughbreds.
And she’s about the closest thing to Winx available to buy anywhere in the world at the moment.
Miss Atom Bomb, this strong-boned filly’s mother, is by Encosta de Lago from Vegas Showgirl. And Vegas Showgirl is the mother of …. Winx.
I say we all get together, pool our money and buy her. Then call her Say No More…(you know, nudge, nudge, wink wink…etc).
Mike Fleming of Bhima can’t wait until 9 April. “This is probably the only filly available on the open market so closely related to Winx.
“I’m really happy with how she looks and her development. It’s a pedigree page that a lot of people will know and want.”
Yeah, you think! That’s an understatement. Any breeder in the world would want this filly.
She isn’t as dark as Winx, but her neck is solid like the great one’s and her rump, where the power comes from, oh boy, it’s almost identical to when Winx was this age.
She’s short-coupled and just just looks soooo powerful with a strong tail that swishes and a face that mirrors the greatest one – Winx.
Miss Atom Bomb, her mum, has produced a foal already to race, called Nuclear Blitz (by Sepoy) and she is a 3YO with Tony Gollan, and is already a winner towards the end of last year.
Trying to feel the market and buying bench this far out is tough, but I’ve seen this filly, we all know her pedigree page and well I’ll have a stab.
I think she fetches $425,000.
