Could Winx overtake Arrogate as the world's best?
All eyes will be on Winx this Saturday as she returns to the track to contest the Group 2 Warwick Stakes at Randwick.
It’s a race that everyone expects Winx to win given her two year winning streak and coming off the back of two classy barrier trial performances.
Winx is currently rated as the world’s best racehorse on turf while American champion Arrogate is rated marginally higher as the overall best racehorse in the world.
If Winx wins by 10+ on Saturday her rating will surpass Arrogates however he is set to race in the the US 14 hours later.
Arrogate lines up in the Pacific Classic at Del Mar in California on Sunday morning (AEST) and will be looking to right the wrong of his last start performance.
Despite winning a host of Group 1’s and recording over $22 million in prize money, Arrogate finished a disappointing fourth in a Grade 2 race at Del Mar last start.
While it’s expected both horses will win their respective races this weekend, another poor performance by Arrogate and an outstanding win by Winx could see the tables turned in the overall rankings.
