Leviathan owner Lloyd Williams’ private trainer Robert Hickmott and his staff will be in for a busy day on Monday with 34 entries for the Bendigo barrier trials.
Williams’ stars Midas Touch, At First Sight, Linton, Efficient, and recent Newcastle Cup winner Green Moon are all down to trial.
The promising Tanby, Studley Park, Excluded, Salter and Collar are also trialling on the spacious track.
Others from the team include Mourayan, Akzar and Base.
Williams, who has been part of the ownership of three Melbourne Cup winners – Just A Dash (1981), What A Nuisance (1985) and Efficient (2007) – often takes his horses away from his Macedon Lodge base for gallops, jump outs or trials and frequently uses Bendigo.
Midas Touch is a $13 third pick in Melbourne Cup betting with TAB Sportsbet.
The import has been placed at his past two starts in the Makybe Diva Stakes and the Underwood Stakes.
He is equal third pick in Caulfield Cup betting at $11 with At First Sight who is at $21 in the Melbourne Cup.
At First Sight finished an eye-catching second to Caulfield Cup favourite and Melbourne Cup equal favourite December Draw in the Naturalism Stakes at Caulfield last Saturday week.
