Gallante is in doubt for the Melbourne Cup
One of Lloyd Williams’ Melbourne Cup contenders is in doubt to line up in next weeks $6.2 million dollar race after a disappointing run in the Geelong Cup.
Williams’ announced today that his horse Gallante is in doubt to take his spot in the Melbourne Cup Field on Tuesday following his disappointing seventh in the Geelong Cup last week.
Gallante ran 20th in last years edition of the Melbourne Cup after winning the Sydney Cup.
Gallante who sits 20th in the Cup order of entry is guaranteed a start in the race if connections opt to run him with the 7YO gelding a $101 chance in the market.
