Aussie sprinter Artorius has been luckless in the Platinum Jubilee Stakes overnight in what he looked to be a certainty beat after being held up in a crucial period of the race to be beaten less than a length.
The Anthony And Sam Freedman trained galloper was sent out as the clear second pick of the Aussie horses at $10 with swiftbet behind Home Affairs who started as the $3.50 favourite but came out of the race unlucky not to have won the feature G1 sprint at Ascot.
Artorius settled in the back off the field before starting his run at the 300m mark however was balked for running on two occasions in the 200m-100m stage of the race ultimately costing him the race after going down less than a length on the line.
