The Matt Laurie-trained Vinrock has been retired from racing and will commence stud duties at Yulong, standing for an introductory service fee of $22,000.
The son of I Am Invincible finishes his career with four wins from eight starts and prizemoney of $1.2 million. He etched his name into the record books as the first horse in 44 years to complete the double of the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes and the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes, and remains the only son of I Am Invincible to win an Australian Group 1 at two.
Vinrock was bred and offered by Rosemont Stud at the 2024 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, where he was purchased for $300,000 by Matt Laurie Racing and Wilannah Park Bloodstock.
He is out of Group 2-winning mare Girl Gone Rockin’, who is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Syreon, while his second dam is Group 2 winner Sorrento.
Yulong Chief Operating Officer Sam Fairgray believes Vinrock possesses all the credentials to make an impact at stud.
“Vinrock is an exceptional colt. Elite performances at two, an outstanding page, and a real physical presence. To win both the VRC and ATC Sires’ Produce races in the same season is so rare and speaks volumes about his class, toughness, and natural ability,” Fairgray said.
“He’s a son of I Am Invincible, and from a high-quality Redoute’s Choice mare like Zoustar, Anamoe and Super Seth, which gives him a pedigree that will really resonate with breeders, and we’re excited to welcome him to the farm.”
