Tianni Chapman is recovering in hospital after sustaining serious injuries during a trackwork mishap at Pakenham on Saturday morning.
The 26-year-old jockey suffered three broken ribs along with a punctured lung as a result of the incident and was subsequently airlifted to The Alfred hospital for immediate treatment.
The accident came just days after Chapman had officially wrapped up her apprenticeship, having been mentored under trainer Peter Gelagotis.
