Apprentice jockey Olivia East was taken to hospital on Saturday after suffering a suspected fractured collarbone during a fall at Werribee.
The 23-year-old rider, who is apprenticed to the training duo Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, was aboard I Am Geronimo, trained by Shannon Roughan, in the fifth race when the horse stumbled and fell approaching the home turn.
Following the incident, the Victorian Jockeys’ Association confirmed that East was transported to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
