Former apprentice jockey Stephen Brown Jr has been airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital following a fall at the Wangaratta jumpouts this morning.
Stephen Brown Jr fell during routine track work which required immediate medical care in which paramedics placed the track worker rider into an induced coma prior to being airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Racing Victoria released the following statement on Wednesday morning:
“Racing Victoria can confirm that licensed track rider Stephen Brown Jr has been airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital following a fall at the Wangaratta jumpouts this morning,” the statement said.
“Stephen received immediate medical care from the on-course paramedic and was placed in an induced coma prior to transport.
“RV will provide further updates on Stephen’s condition once known.”
