Godolphin has locked in star mare Tempted to represent its slot in the $20 million The Everest at Randwick on Saturday, October 17.
The daughter of Street Boss earned her place in the world’s richest turf race following a devastating victory in last Saturday’s Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.
Tempted has been faultless throughout 2026 and Godolphin Australia Managing Director Andy Makiv believes the homebred mare is ideally placed to represent the operation on Sydney’s biggest sprinting stage.
“She is an outstanding mare, unbeaten in 2026 and I’m sure she will represent Godolphin extremely well,” said Godolphin Australia Managing Director Andy Makiv.
“As a Godolphin homebred, we are all very proud of her and the thrill she gives us on raceday.”
Makiv also highlighted Tempted’s importance to Godolphin’s breeding operation through her sire Street Boss.
“She also represents our Darley stallion brand as a daughter of Street Boss, the US shuttler and resident at Northwood Park.”
Tempted began her unbeaten 2026 campaign by winning the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes before breaking through at the highest level in the Group 1 Surround Stakes.
She completed her autumn preparation with another impressive performance in the Group 2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint before returning in equally dominant fashion during the spring.
Victories in the Group 2 Concorde Stakes and Premiere Stakes have extended Tempted’s winning streak and taken her overall record to nine victories from 14 starts with more than $7 million in prizemoney.
She will now take that unbeaten 2026 record into The Everest as Godolphin chases one of Australian racing’s biggest prizes.
