Kandinsky Abstract, Sunlight’s full brother, is set to make his racing debut on Wednesday at Canterbury in a 1200-metre race.
The colt was the highest-priced yearling sold at the 2022 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, fetching an impressive $3 million.
The three-year-old is owned by Coolmore and trained by Chris Waller, and has had two official trials, finishing fourth and third respectively under James McDonald.
Ladbrokes currently has Kandinsky Abstract at $2.90 in the market, an equal favourite for the maiden race.
Solar Charged, Kandinsky Abstract’s dam, has been a valuable broodmare for Widden Stud, with her subsequent foals selling for impressive prices at sales.
Sunlight, Kandinsky Abstract’s full sister, was the first foal out of Solar Charged to go under the hammer in 2017.
She was purchased for $300,000 and won over $6.5 million in prizemoney before being sold as a broodmare for $4.2 million.
Kandinsky Abstract’s debut is eagerly awaited by racing fans, who are hoping that he can emulate his sister’s success.
With his strong pedigree and experienced trainer and jockey, he could prove to be a force to be reckoned with on the racetrack.
