Western Australia stewards have opened an inquiry into a race at Geraldton on Thursday in which a jockey seemingly stops riding his mount before congratulating the winner after the race.
The race in questions was Race 5 at Geraldton in which the Sarah Childs trained stablemates ran the quinella although the vision shows jockey Robert Markou ease his mount Miss Harley Quinn the final 30m of the race in which the horse ran second to stablemate Stellar Ignition.
If the ride itself wasn’t suspicious enough after the line the vision shows Robert Markou first bump winning jockey Brodie Kirby in a congratulatory fashion.
Miss Harley Quinn paid $7.80 on the local tote.
