Two Rockhampton stable hands have been stood down today after testing positive to prohibited substances.
Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Stewards carried out no notice testing at Rockhampton’s Callaghan Park this morning.
The stable hands have tested positive to cannabis, methamphetamine and amphetamine and both have been stood down until the outcome of secondary testing.
QRIC Acting Commissioner Mark Ainsworth said all racing participants must present to work free of prohibited substances in their system.
“For the continued safety of all industry participants QRIC carries out no notice testing to ensure the rules of racing are not breached,” he said.
