Ascot trainer Neville Parnham enjoyed further success with resurgent sprinter Snowdome who took out the Listed Tabtouch Pinjarra Classic (1300m) at Pinjarra.
Snowdome, ridden by Brad Parnham, led all the way and despite the pressure applied by Man Crush, he proved too tough to run down and won by a neck.
Man Crush, who put up a fight in the straight, ran second, 1 ½ lengths clear of Final Siren, ensuring the first three in running occupied the placings.
Ice Pick Nick charged home late from the back of the field for fourth, but from a long way out he was never a serious threat of reeling in the pacesetters.
Snowdome proved he was back to his best after indifferent form and secured his second straight feature after the Cyril Flower Stakes (1200m) at Ascot.
Snowdome was an outstanding two-year-old, winning the Sires’ but lost his way after recording his best win in the Group 3 Prince Of Wales Stakes (1000m) two years ago.
Parnham said Snowdome has come good again and is back in the winner’s list after a decision was made to geld the son of Rommell last year.
“His last couple of runs have been really, really top class,” Parnham said.
“I know this is not carnival-type horses, there’s a couple there that have performed very well, but he seems to be in great form.
“Certainly, gelding him after his last prep was a good move.
“He’s not as moody as he used to be, doesn’t sweat up as much as he used to.
“Clearly, it’s been a good decision to do that, he’s very sound and happy.
“We’re getting the right results with him.”
The Bunbury Stakes over 1400m looks an appealing next option for Snowdome, but Parnham hasn’t settled on his next move just yet.
“I’m not sure what to do with him at the moment,” Parnham said.
“I’ll chat to Brad to see what he thought of the run and whether he would get 1400m.
“We’ll have a think about it and work from there.”
Snowdome’s Pinjarra success improved his record to nine wins from 25 starts and with prizemoney and bonuses, he’s nearing the $1 million mark.
