A day at the races for Sam Frost was once just a picnic blanket with friends but now the Home and Away star’s experience is more glitz and glamour.
The former radio presenter and Bachelorette has been announced as the ambassador for The Everest, the world’s richest horse race on turf, at Randwick on October 13.
“Now they’re all knocking on my door going can I please be your plus one” she told AAP at Randwick races on Saturday.
“I love it because I get to share it with my girlfriends. You get to dress up, have a champagne and everyone is always in a good mood. I really like it, I think the energy is just infectious.”
Wearing a pale blue Rachel Gilbert dress with a custom made black boater hat and veil to match, Frost sees this year’s spring racing trends as more conservative, structured styles with a focus on pastels.
“I love the veils, I love the hats, I like it because everyone is different and you can have your own individual taste,” she said.
“It’s one of those events where everyone looks good.”
With Prince Harry and Meghan the Duchess of Sussex potentially making an appearance, Frost says the day will be bigger and better than before.
“If the Royals are there that’s just an extra bonus!”
