The race meeting at Kilmore has has been abandoned amid safety concerns after metal pegs were found on the track.
Racing Victoria stewards called off Thursday’s meeting before the first race was scheduled to be run.
During a routine inspection of the track, two star metal pickets were found to have been driven into the track near the 400m mark.
“There was two of them (steel stakes) driven into the course proper, 2 metres off the running rail.”
