Racing Victoria have confirmed that the closing of Victoria’s western border it will not impact trainers who want to run their horses in Victoria.
The TRSA announced on Wednesday night that all racing in the state had been cancelled for six days as the state was rushed into lockdown following a danger COVID-19 cluster in Adelaide.
Trainers in South Australia however will still be allowed to work their horses during the lockdown period and on Thursday Racing Victoria gave trainers from South Australia the green light to race their horses in Victoria.
The news comes as a relief for trainers Ryan Balfour and Grant Kluske who have horses entered on Ballarat Cup Day on Saturday.
