Last year they were the toast of the town when their super colt Stay Inside stormed away to win the Gr 1 Golden Slipper.
Now, almost to the day one year later, the dynamic training partnership of Richard and Michael Freedman will end.
Effective 1 April, Richard Freedman will handle horses out of his Rosehill stables.
Brother Michael Freedman will handle his team from both the Hawkesbury and Randwick barns.
They have split and have approached Racing NSW for individual licences.
In a letter sent to all owners of horses trained by Team Freedman in Sydney, the stable announced the move would take place gradually over the next three weeks.
โYour horse will continue to receive the care and the attention you have come to expect from us. We both look forward to offering you great service in the future with both yards striving for success individually.
โThe future of the horses and our great staff are vitally important to us, and will attempt to make the transition as smooth as possible.โ
There is NO official word on just why the successful combo have split.
Some news from @Freedman_bros here in Sydney. Good luck to Richard & Michael on a new chapter. @SkyRacingAU @R1CHARDFREEDMAN @gallopgreen pic.twitter.com/c31Kw0JzL3
