Racing Victoria introduces Ladbrokes Owners Bonus Scheme

Racing Victoria, in partnership with Ladbrokes, has unveiled a new bonus initiative designed to reward winning owners with extra cash when their horse breaks its maiden in selected races.

The Ladbrokes Owners Bonus will provide an additional $5000 to owners whose horse wins a designated maiden race at one of six Victorian racetracks that are sponsored by Ladbrokes.

The bonus program will launch with Race 3 at Moonee Valley on Friday night as the first eligible event. The other participating tracks include:

• Cranbourne
• Geelong
• Moe
• Sale
• Stony Creek

At each of these venues, the Ladbrokes Owners Bonus will be awarded in one nominated maiden race per meeting, provided such a race is programmed.

In the case of a dead heat, the $5000 bonus, which is fully funded by Ladbrokes, will be split among the winning connections.

Racing Victoria’s Head of Racing, Paul Bloodworth, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative:

“We are delighted to provide owners with another opportunity to earn greater rewards when their horse wins its first race, which is an exciting moment for all connected with the horse.”

Bloodworth highlighted Racing Victoria’s ongoing commitment to boosting prizemoney for maiden races, stating:

“Maximising prizemoney for maiden races has been a focus for RV over recent years and we’ve sought to complement that with additional rewards through schemes such as this one.”

He also extended gratitude to Ladbrokes for their role in supporting racehorse owners, acknowledging their vital contribution to the industry:

“We thank Ladbrokes for their support of our owners who are an essential part of our racing industry and invest so much into the care and training of their horses.”
