Multiple parties have formally lodged offers to purchase Golden Slipper winner Lady Of Camelot, with the champion mare’s sale expected to challenge Australasian broodmare price records.
Owner-breeder Sir Owen Glenn and Go Bloodstock manager Steve O’Connor met on Friday evening to assess the merits of the offers received during the week-long private sale process.
Lady Of Camelot was recently retired from racing after a stellar career that included victory in the 2024 Golden Slipper, success in the Widden Stakes and Group 1 placings in both the Blue Diamond Stakes and Percy Sykes Stakes during her outstanding juvenile campaign.
Interest in the mare has been strong throughout the confidential sales process, with several entities officially expressing their desire to secure one of Australia’s most valuable broodmare prospects.
The deadline for offers expired at 5pm on Friday, prompting O’Connor and Sir Owen Glenn to meet and determine which bid represented the best outcome for the mare and her future.
The identity of the successful purchaser is expected to be revealed once negotiations are finalised.
