Australian jockey Rachel King is set to make her return to Japan after being granted a license by the Japan Racing Association (JRA) to ride from January 5 to March 4, 2025.
King will begin her campaign with six rides at Chukyo Racecourse on Sunday, including the G3 Sports Nippon Sho Kyoto Kimpai, where she partners with Sakura Toujours.
King made history in 2024 as the first foreign female jockey to win a JRA Group race, claiming the G2 American Jockey Club Cup aboard Chuck Nate.
Her success earned respect across the Japanese racing community, cementing her as an international talent.
βItβs an incredible honour to be awarded another license by the JRA. My time there last year was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, both professionally and personally.β King said.
“Iβm looking forward to building on the relationships I developed and striving for even better results this time around.”
