Central Queensland trainer Nick Walsh has been handed a 12-month disqualification after being found guilty of using a banned substance on one of his horses.
The Rockhampton-based trainer faced charges following positive swabs that detected the presence of the anabolic steroid Stanozolol in three separate samples—two from out-of-competition testing and one from a post-race analysis.
Racing Queensland stewards issued three individual 12-month disqualifications for each offence, but they will be served concurrently, resulting in a total ban of one year.
Walsh pleaded guilty to all three charges, with the penalties handed down as part of Racing Queensland’s ongoing commitment to integrity and compliance in the sport.
