Promising apprentice Nick Keal has suffered a fractured right collar bone following a fall in a trial at Toowoomba this morning.
Nick’s horse veered to the right and crashed into the plastic fencing throwing him heavily to the turf. Fortunately, it was only a small field and Nick escaped further injury as all other horses and riders were able to avoid him.
Keal was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital before being released late Thursday afternoon.
Nick had close to a full book of rides at the Gold Coast meeting on Saturday although will be out of the saddle for a lengthy period.
“At least I don’t have to get up early in Winter. This is a minor set back and I will recover well and be back bigger and better”. Keale said.
