Prominent horse racing trainer Peter Moody has unveiled an ambitious plan for his prized stallion, I Wish I Win, in the upcoming racing season.
The talented TJ Smith Stakes winner is gearing up for a notable journey leading to The Everest race.
Moody’s strategy hinges on the 1400-metre Group 1 Memsie Stakes, which will serve as the key precursor to The Everest.
The horse’s recent jumpout at Pakenham turned heads, with both Moody and jockey Luke Nolen expressing satisfaction with its performance.
I Wish I Win has shown promise in shorter races, such as the Black Caviar Lightning, where it secured a second place finish over 1000m.
However, Moody envisions a shift towards longer distances, favoring the 1400m Memsie Stakes over the compact 1000m track at Moonee Valley.
After the Memsie Stakes, a strategic 21-day break is planned before The Everest, capitalizing on the horse’s proven success with such intervals.
