Trainer Peter Moody faces three charges relating to a high cobalt level returned by Lidari after he ran second in the Group One Turnbull Stakes last spring.
Victorian stewards issued the charges on Friday after a lengthy investigation into Lidari’s cobalt level which was above the 200 micrograms per litre of urine.
Lidari’s sample was tested twice with the first level 380mcg/L with a degree of uncertainty of 38mg, and the second 410mcg/L.
“This has been an exhaustive and complex investigation by Racing Victoria’s integrity services team into the sample returned by the Mr Moody-trained Lidari,” Dayle Brown, the head of RV’s integrity unit said.
Moody joins fellow Victorian trainers Mark Kavanagh, Danny O’Brien and the partnership of Lee and Shannon Hope in facing charges over illegal cobalt levels detected last year.
RV has not yet set dates for any hearings.
