We all saw those graphic, heart-warming pics of Trapeze Artist at Widden Stud last week when he was reintroduced to his former rider, the injured jockey Tye Angland.
The horse bent down, sniffed him in his wheelchair and raised his hoof to say hi resting it on the champion rider’s lap.
Horses are smart, they have long memories and they can move us. That incident did all that.
BUT…overnight in Hong Kong, a human interest act of kindness took place.
BEAUTY GENERATION the NZ-bred Champion of Hong Kong was the recipient of a Gala Night to celebrate his magnificent deeds.
And during the night, the owners stunned the crowd when they got up, and on the mike, declared that they had decided to donate $1million in Australian dollars to the Tye Angland family with the money to be held in a trust to assist his kids education.
I was moved almost to tears when I heard about it.
And I’m just as misty right now reporting it.
What a wonderful, kind gesture.
