Controversial jockey Noel Callow is again under scrutiny, with Queensland stewards laying fresh charges following the emergence of another video in which he is alleged to have used a racial slur.
The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) confirmed Callow has been charged under AR 228(a), a rule covering conduct considered prejudicial to the image, interests or integrity of racing.
The charge stems from a newly surfaced street-recorded video in which racially offensive comments are allegedly made by Callow. Although Callow does not appear in the footage, stewards allege the voice on the recording belongs to him. The incident is believed to have taken place in Darwin, according to Racenet.
Callow has pleaded guilty to the latest charge, with stewards now adjourning the matter to determine an appropriate penalty.
