Menari is the 10th horse to receive an Everest slot
Menari is the latest horse to secure a spot in the $13 million Everest with slot holder Max Whitby confirming he will run for him and partner Neil Werrett.
Whitby supported Vega Magic in the inaugural running last year but has taken a gamble with Menari who has not raced for almost a year.
The rising four-year-old is trained by Gerald Ryan who also has the favourite, Trapeze Artist, in the race.
Menari started favourite in the Golden Rose in September but finished third behind Trapeze Artist who went on to win the Group One TJ Smith Stakes and All Aged Stakes in the autumn.
The George Altomonte-owned Menari underwent throat surgery after the Golden Rose and will run in a barrier trial in the next couple of weeks.
There are three spots in the Everest yet to be determined with Chautauqua to run in the second of two enforced trials on Monday to confirm his place for GPI Racing.
James Harron and the Australian Turf Club are the other slot holders yet to name their runners in the 1200m-sprint on October 13.
