Rekindling will not run in this years Melbourne Cup
Last years Melbourne Cup winner Rekindling will not contest this years edition of the race with owner Lloyd Williams confirming the rumours.
Lloyd Williams has decided that Melbourne Cup winner Rekindling as well as the runner up Johannes Vermeer both will not target the 2018 Melbourne Cup.
Rekindling who was the favourite for this years Cup before speculation he would not run in the race is a $21 chance in current markets.

Owner Lloyd Williams has now confirmed that Melbourne Cup winner Reklindling won’t get the chance to defend his crown this November. Like Johannes Vermeer… Rekindling won’t be seen at the track till late Spring.
