Co-trainer Calvin McEvoy has provided a positive update on Half Yours, confirming the star galloper is safe and well following a frightening incident at Caulfield.
McEvoy took to social media to reassure racing fans that Half Yours had returned safely to the stable at Flemington, where he received veterinary attention for several injuries.
“We’re very, very pleased to report that our big horse is safe and well,” McEvoy said.
“He’s back here to our stable at Flemington. We’ve had Matt Morahan, our vet, here stitch him up. He had a couple of lacerations.”
While Half Yours emerged from the incident with cuts and bruising, McEvoy expressed relief at how the horse had come through the ordeal.
“He’s pretty battered and bruised, but we’re very, very happy with the way that he’s come through what was an awful situation.”
McEvoy concluded by reassuring supporters that Melbourne Cup winner Half Yours was safely back at Flemington.
“Just wanted to update everyone on Half Yours, and he’s safe and well out of Caulfield. Thank you.”
