Melbourne Cup placegetter turned stallion ‘Jakkalberry’ has sadly passed away this morning due to illness.
Jakkalberry ran third in the 2012 Melbourne Cup behind Green Moon and had established himself as a sire at Novara Park in New Zealand with his earliest progeny now 2YO’s.
The horse had suffered what was basically a gut infection/colic which got worse quickly with the horse passing away in the early hours of Friday.
Jakkalberry was retired to stud duties as the foundation stallion at Novara Park with his horses selling up to $440,000NZD at Karaka.
